qantas uniform

interesting reading
PETER Morrissey, one of Australia's leading top designers and fashion identities, has been shattered to find that the label he founded 12 years ago is going to be wound up.
M Webster Holdings has owned the label since 2006 and yesterday announced it is set to close the brand's four stores. It stated that the coming spring collection for 2009 will be the label's last.
Morrissey brand manager Paula McKenzie said the top label could not survive the year ahead.
"Unfortunately in the current economic climate, it is no longer viable for Morrissey to continue to operate," McKenzie said.

While the company would make all efforts to redeploy three dedicated designers plus retail staff to other positions in the M Webster Holdings Fashion group, that offer didn't extend to Morrissey himself.
"As far as Websters and Peter go, I believe there is not anything more for him here," she said.
Speaking to Confidential yesterday, a shaken Morrissey could not hide his distress at the news.
"It's mixed feelings but you know what, I've survived many things," he said, still limping after undergoing a knee reconstruction. He said he was "disappointed", particularly for staff who had contributed to the brand.
In another blow for the designer, the Morrissey label - his name - will be owned by Malcolm Webster.
In a brief statement Morrissey distanced himself from management: "I have not owned the Morrissey brand or been involved in the business decisions and operations of Morrissey for six years, so will not comment on how the business has been operated".
His design role diminished over the years as the business changed hands.
In 1997, the late Rene Rivkin bought a 60 per cent controlling interest. In 2000 Rivkin sold Morrissey to Oroton, which later sold it to M Webster Holdings.
Under the M Webster Holdings banner, Morrissey had only an "ambassadorial" role.

Good Riddance

The uniform is rubbish and its designer an arrogant vertically challenged egomaniac.
Having worn several uniforms in my career this current QF uniform is the cheapest nastiest of them all...and no knitwear for the flying fridge..aka
the A330 Airbus...no wonder we get sick!

Having worked "for" Morrissey when he stayed at the hotel I was working at many moon's ago, all I have to say is that this pr#ck gets what he deserves. A user, a lazy tool bag who has no respect for anyone he uses nor anyone he can get something out of.

Have some time off Morrissey, come back down to earth!

Classic prerequisites for an Airline Management position if he's interested.

You're kidding right? Don't you own a suit? Do you put that in the wash too? You must like the shine then? Suit pants/jackets are usually dry cleaned, if not then they're not worth their salt! Do you know what prolonged tumble drying will do to most shirts? Obviously not.

Oh C'mon

The shirts are rubberized and have no pockets:the pants have no back pockets:the tie stains if you spill water on it.It was supposed to be wash n wear.No knitwear because he (Morrissey)doesnt believe in it.
The pen pocket in the pants stabs you in the gonads every time you bend or crouch down.
Great Uniform....my ass
A uniform is work wear..its supposed to be functional.
This uniform is neither functional or fashionable

Good riddance bald headed prick

Funny how QF used to wheel Morrisey out when they talk about uniform changes, yet it appears he was nothing but a powerless figure-head and had no input into the running of the 'brand' or design.

Good riddance to the bald-headed prick.

I suspect it reduces their moisture content substantially - but my testing regime is ongoing and not necessary to international standards.

I routinely tumble dry my (tech crew) shirts (especially in recent weather). Lasting 2-3 years each at present. Were you expecting much more out of them?

I take it the negative comments are against CC uniforms and not Tech crew?
My uniform is fine, comfortable to wear and durable. As far as the pants comment im with QF411.

Agree with above too.....

you can machine wash the pants if you use the right cycle and then press them as long as you cover them - better than dry cleaning anyway which doesn't clean body sweat out - yuk!

I tumble dry my shirts when the weather requires it and they're still fine after 2 years

Yes. This rivetting and highly relevant and emotive thread on uniform fashion was tossed out of the Cabin Crew forum, presumably for being akin to having your fingernails pulled, and probably under the guise of being D&G oriented. Thanks mods!

Geez times must be tough when you have to wash your pants instead of getting them dry cleaned!

And flitegirl, pants shouldn't really be part of the cabin crew uniform for women anyway!
