QF B777 delivery slots?

Moving on from the last QF B777 thread and all the calls that "the B777 is on the way for QF" from many "very in the know" posters on Prune, it seem to be months on from the decision announcement that was said to be just around the corner and there still nothing in the media?

Was there any basis to the rumour or was it just bull dust

Although some on pprune will tell give you the idea that they are in the know the real people making the final decision seem to be the quintessential procrastinators or at least they excel in that area...

Perhaps,if the A380 had been delayed even further than it was and there were no other alternatives from Airbus the 777 might have been ordered.I think every aircraft that is even remotely viable would be looked at.

Although Skystar 320 is an expert on the 777 and the alternatives and thinks that pigs fly only a few select people will ever know how close the orders were and if they were ever considering the 777 seriously...

Buster, I've seen models of rat-tailed triplers in Coward Street.

Mind you I've also seen Concorde, DC8, Tristar, and I'm sure there are A340s and 747-8s if you know who to visit.

Yeah I know your no expert on the 777 Skystar but your use of the cliche 'Pigs might fly' inferred that you considered the chances of QF getting the 777 would be the same as seeing pigs fly....perhaps you could tell us why?

Jabawocky...Your pic worked fine on my computer.By the way does anyone else think Virgin is having a slight shot at QF with their paint scheme...

Skystar320...Nope....no grudge...not at all.

It's just that it seemed when you said pigs might fly you were of the opinion that QF would never buy the 777 and I was simply asking why you would say that?

A classic example of another saying "I'll believe it when I see it"

Yes, that's the one Jaba....

Well, the red bit's obvious Lobee, but I personally thought of the AN "charter" (flag) tail...

See? SEE...the stars have that same crossy pattern!!!

Buster.....

Those guys at V Australia have no sense of originality do they?

Knowing RB and his penchant for PR it's a wonder it doesn't have any stripes on the tail as well.....

Nice pic of the Death Star taking off as well Buster...

Skystar..Don't think TOO deeply about sayings or the 777 because you might fall off your police pushbike in the Hay st Mall...
