Hey Skystar,
Who is Stoddart and his team meeting("having merger talks") in Melbourne with then?!?!?
I little bit of homework and you should be able to answer who the other airline/merger partner is.
Me thinks DingoMuddy is pretty much spot on the money.....good luck to them all, maybe a nice little combined operation to fly for.

not the first time ozjet has let the travelling public down, the syd/mel services got canned, they cancelled perth shortly before launch and now this...i'd be surprised if the rumour about perth-curtin being axed is true though...

One news reported that Air Naru was the airline purchasing Ozjet.

Our Airline is the former Air Nauru. An interesting quote is that 'Air Nauru' is the buyer and not Our Airline. I suppose Our Airline never changed the ON flight numbering.

'Our Airline' is just a trading name. The company itself is Nauru Air Corporation - http://www.casa.gov.au/casadata/aoc/...&Search=Search

Is it any coincidence that Airlines of PNG now use Our airline on their BNE POM run. Perhaps it is them who need the Australian 737 AOC

I don't understand why an operator that already has an Australian AOC would want the expense and hassle of running another one as a separate exercise. In Our Airline's case I can see that they might want to take out any opposition so they can go back to Norfolk Island, but it seems an expensive way to go about it. Airlines of PNG already has an Australian partner company with an AOC and plenty of expertise, so why would they want Ozjet? If Ozjet is in financial trouble it will soon die a natural anyway, and if it's not, surely it is only for sale at more than it's worth? Someone with a business brain, please explain.

Gas Chamber

Agree with what most of what you say but if Ozjet is going south I'd say that NLK Management already has the signatures practiced for the signing of an Our Airline contract.

On a totally different note, does this give futher proof that the Norfolk Island Pine Tree Curse exists?

Why is Toll after a(nother) passenger airline? Or is this part of a greater play involving Virgin (ie: previous speculation of ozjet as ULCC)

Perhaps there are some inefficiencies with their existing 737 freighter business and they wanted a quick and easy way to transition them to an Australian AOC?

IF (and it's always an if until at least three months after its done) Toll is the one buying OzJet, I can see them merging it with the bits of Jetcraft they may/are buying to create an integrated airfreight network. That could be the kind of grouping which would give management at AAE nightmares.

Can't wait to see what is really happening. . .

Most feasible prospect so far, cherry picking the useful parts of a few parcel carriers into Toll's freight airline. Not much point in using VB for anything but belly freight, costs are higher.

It wouldn't take much to turn Ozjet into a low cost base 733F operator. And one or more 733 pax for charter where it's justified.

Yeah right for Alliance Airlines, they are striving ahead with Fokker F100 / F50 operation and those FK100's are far better than that of a 737-200 but would be a struggle up against a 733

Alliance? No, don't think so. If doesn't start with Fokker, Alliance don't want to know about it.

One of Alliance's shareholders (Airwork NZ) is running the 737 freighters here anyway (for TOL?? not sure). Surely they would not want another 737 AOC!

It has to be TOL, it fits with the business model. Also, Patrick are operating most of the ADF charters, which Ozjet, Our Airline and Alliance are operating. It makes some, not total sense to have some control over an operator.

Question Job Vacancies

Apparently Ewen Wilson told the Flight Attendants on the NorfolkAir/OzJet flights (today) they could apply for their jobs to NorfolkAir and he would consider whether he would employ them or not!
So could it be NorfolkAir who need an AOC since they are currently only a marketing company using OzJet on a charter basis to/from NLK(YSNF) ?
