CX is about to do a similar thing. Suitable instructors who get jobs with CX as S/Os will get on the CX seniority list however will remain as instructors in Adelaide for 2 years, before joining again as S/Os.

At least they'll have two years to find a better job, and find out CX isn't the job it used to be.

So by the looks of it, noone is getting sent back, just instructors get a job provided they do their time instructing

I would hope these people won't be employed under LOA161A.
That dodgy LOA has more holes in it than The Risk Model piece of Swiss cheese that Qantas has become.
