You are entitled to your opinion, and I gladly welcome it. However, I would advise you to please get to the point and above all else, review your posts before you commit electrons to cyberspace. That post made absolutely no sense at all. What were you trying to say??????

LAME A380 please don't be threatened by the mob. We all would love to know what QF offered and understand you must do what you must do. We will not be happy, but will appreciate an update on QF logic.

What makes you all think that the A380 interview and selection process was any different than any other in the past. Seems like QF old school is alive and well - obvious some of the candidates selected, who's positions are looking doubtful as Dmms'Seniors etc, were selected as 'jobs for the boys'...to see the through a few more years to retirement...

i suggest you all stop worrying who got it, who didnt, just like all previous QE job positions awarded. Why all the negative effort for this 1 ??

I bet if most of you thread contributers put in as much effort on the job, as you did here, you wouldn't be in the postion you are in now !!

The cream rises to the top - and unfortunately so does the deadwood....

Lets see in the future, when round 2 of A380 selection comes up, how many of you change your coat, and again present yourself. Think long and hard as to what the future of training, and LAMES is in the company, and the current aviation environment...

The old days are gone....get used to change....adapt or perish....

Short Circuit, appreciate your post however i am certinly not threatened by the mob, my opinions are formed on logic, and as i said my decision was based on my personal circumstances, any reasonable person will see that if the mob has its way the only loosers in this will be the association and the guys who are following them blindly, time will tell, either way i have made my decision and am totally comfortable with it.

Mendaero do you know if the mechanical Virgin blokes were type trained on the Eng, A/F and Elec or only the Eng/AF of the Embraer?

if you have info on the 380 then post here

if youre just fishing for a bite,go somewhere else.

LAMEA380, I have spoken directly to someone who has been offered a contract for 6 months, a bit different to what you claim. Care to elaborate?

Redstone, full B1 and B2 and the basics process takes about 14-16 weeks if you have no cross-category quals.

Cheers 30/30, I was just wondering if Virgin use the full B1 type training on the jungle jet, for example did they train up the greasers and the cones B1 and B2 but then only give the a/f blokes the a/f and eng type training while the sparkies picked up the elec side?

QF stooges.......

It's been brought to my attention that QANTAS management has put up some people to register on this site and make some comments ( like LAMEA380) to stir up the members of the ALAEA.
This thread is not the only one either, so DON'T fall for it.
For confirmation, just check our the number of posts and join date.
My source also advises that there are a couple of longer term forum users also "acting for QF"
This is just another shoddy strategy used by this company in an attempt to de-stabilise LAMES.
So steady on guys......... save the hostile words for a better time.

30/30, thanks for the info, did any of the Virgin people get a full B1 and B2? And if so did they then do the full type training (eng, a/f, elec, inst & radio) on the Embraer, now that would be a Super Lame......

Only one guy with the full B1 and B2 (full type course).

There are a number of guys with 5 cat licences on the 737NG, particularly in Perth.
