That is a kick in the guts to all Australians.

What chance do our kids have in this industry?

I thought JHAS would have been in there with a better show than they have been given, I suppose this knocks some of their desires out the window as well.

Gives me the sh$ts this short sighted efficiency crap.

G'day Romulus

Has QF pulled the rug out from under JHAS or do you think you're still in the hunt for A380 maintenance? ? ?

Maybe you've already gone on holidays?
Is the race over for JHAS?

"AP resigned from the Assoc. after the Fat Controller had a word in his ear."

But it was the FC who told him it would be beneficial for his career in QF if he was elected to the union...............how things change.......

For christmas, Qantas got all their workers another threat to their jobs...

Good one ya you bunch of f***wits, useless f***ers couldn't organise a F**k in a brothel. Run a company till there is nothing left and the flying public decides to leave you stranded at the terminal. They will catch on!

Just don't cross the road in front of some of us...

Line your own pockets you f**king a**eholes.

Apologies all

Hi all,

apologies for going quiet, couple of things going on, one being looking after Mum over festive season (no jolly to Toulouse this year) the other being a bucketload of work to do.

Rather than reply individually:

Yes we're still in swinging for A380, I'd rate us about 45%. Which simply means we need to up the work rate to get us to 50%+ and then better it from there. The guys on the B1 course are doing their bit, the A380 projcet team are doing theirs and we'll push ACS as hard as we can.

Overall the QF guys we met during the A380 visit were good value.

Do you think I could use one of the A380 proving flights to do a renewal of marriage vows with an Elvis celebrant?

Merry Xmas all, the competition is heating up the closer we get to the wire so I won't be around as often.

Slight thread drift Rom, but did you guys tender for VB's heavy checks? I see the sheep shaggers have retained it.

Please do not feed this A380: troll. This thread no doubt is annoying the QF management by connecting the Lames at all ports together, in conjunction with the assoc. It is an attempt to shut it down with provoking comments meant to inflame and the moderators would be forced to act. Hey ..A380 get back under the desk.

So anyway, back to the topic of the thread;

The A380 maintenance bid. My source tells me that CASA was only willing to fast track the full B1 thing on the proviso that the partys involved offered up highly experienced long term extension bods for the training. It would seem that Qantas at least has chosen to put forward quite a few people who don't quite "measure up" so to speak and as a result those who were under the idea that they would recieve the full type training are sadly mistaken. May as well just have implemented it under the old group system

MENDE, firstly thank you for your courteous question, my personal reasons are purely financial. I am aware that i wont be popular but i am not entering a popularity contest so i have approached this with a clear understanding.

Secondly my opinion is that JHAS has a newcomer to contend with in respect of future contracts including A380, whether this happens or not did not influence my decsision. i think that all can be winners in this if the association is strategic in their discussions.

If i was betting, i would say JHAS has 10% chance Newcomer 40%. The alternative 50% will be decided by what happens with this Barney.
