Will REX get hammered by a Virgin?
Reading the Australian yesterday and noticed that Virgin are looking pretty close at some of REX's routes in SA and NSW for the new Embraer Jets. Could this be the beginning of the end for REX or are the jets way too big for the REX GIG?

I think there will still be alot of ports that will only be suited to a turbo-prop aircraft. A lot will also depend on the Airport Operator - if they are willing to spend money to upgrade facilities to support a jet aircraft.

Port Lincoln is another port which could certainly handle a jet! They are doing up to eight flights a day in there, only problem is the sector is very short, would kill on cycles!

Will Rex be affected.... quite possibly if they end up with competition on their routes... by how much will possibly depend on managements attitude. If its anything like their attitude towards other issues like pilots etc then they will probably stick their arrogant heads in the sand and say "what problem".

They will get hammered on competing routes...
Think about it, if ticket prices are the same why would you get onto a beaten up old piece of dog crap like a saab rather than a nice new shiny jet with hot chicks as FA's on board!!
