as more routes get served by larger B737-800s, especially the inland Pilbara (ZNE and PBO)
Well you'd better fix up that poor excuse for a landing strip eh TE3?!

Bloggs, this is where your 717's will finish up when the E Jets eat them alive.

Virgin blue hasnt given a **** about regional WA so why would they all of a sudden come over here.

They have a bad name in regional WA as well with dropping Broome and telling the Kal-Boul clan that they were starting all sorts of services that never happened.

Airlines don't fly to regional destinations because of a deep seated desire to support regional communities - they are in the business of making money. If they can't fill the seats and make money they will pull their service -simple. Ansett used to be the biggest player in regional WA, now it's Qantas/Qantaslink and Skywest. Others will move in if they think they can make a dollar -simple.

Virgin Blue will initially make much more money filling its E-jets on shorter services on the east coast. When it has maximised its capacity to make money in the east, WA would be a logical place to look for new opportunities. If you think the incumbent airlines flying services in WA have different motivation to Virgin Blue you’re dreaming!

W Wings,

No not at all, its just I know old Capn Bloggs cant resist a comeback to anyone who challenges his 717's, or NJS's existance.

I wish them well, I know a few guys there.

W Wings,

By saying DJ dont give a **** about WA i meant about the fact they have already pulled services which werent making money.

There are some routes that could make money in WA but they need to get some good press on their side in regional WA to fill their seats, whether it be cheap fares etc.

I know if they arent going to make money they pull the services, its like OzJet slowly but surly will expand into WA but how long are they going to last if DJ come in with fuel efficient lower cost base E-Jets? not long. Same with XR they will struggle to compete.

Will be interesting to see what they do though. BME-Bali would be a good route for the E190.

Unfortunately BME lacks customs and immigration so that will not be an option.

They do have customs just not dedicated to the airport. From the port.

They have had several asian charters as well as skywest flying to Bali.
