Tiger Terms and Conditions
I'm not having a dig or trying to stir the pot but I was talking to a flight attendant today who reckons she was offered a job as a cabin manager for Tiger but turned it down because for $40,000 it wasn't worth doing consecutive back of the clocks between the east and west coasts as well as Darwin. She said something about it being a three year contract (AWA?) and being bonded. She reckons she's better off at Virgin. Would this be right? Has anyone any idea on the terms and conditions for pilots yet?

how does she know?
Hi Metro,
I find it hard to believe that anyone knows the terms and conditions!
Crew who have been recruited recently are yet to receive the contract.
The AWA has not been registered with the government.
Crew have a tendancy to make things up.
I would wait until the facts are made public over the next week or so
Ms T.

From what I have been told the Pilots wage is a low base with an hourly rate for the number of hours you fly for the month/year. Something like $95,000 base with $95 an hour for every hour you fly. If it is higher than VB or Jetstar great but then again the Oz tax rate is quite a bit higher as well
Thats what I heard too. Low base and hourly rate. Who would join for that? Do you get paid while on leave? or sick? Heard also you got to buy your uniforms as well. Hope I heard wrong!!
