Jetstar Crew

I was at Sydney International terminal the other day collecting some visitors and couldn't help notice the size of the suitcases used by Thai based Jetstar cabin crew. The crew had arrived from Phuket. The bags were enormous and if used by the Jetstar punters, there would be a lot of excess baggage charges made. Are these guys away from home for weeks at a time, or are they supplementing their meagre income by exporting goods from Thailand to sell elsewhere?

They do 13 day patterns where they do many sectors in that time, I believe.

Getting Foreign cabin crew to operate out of Australia and back in is a rort.
Must save them heaps of $$$.
Does the government have anything to say about this because foreign workers are quite restricted as to what they can do when they are on a permit. I Don't know about Australia but, I know I couldn't do that sort of thing where I work. I can undestand Thai crew to Thailand for the language and customs but, Thais( as much as I think that it would probably be a better service) with all Aust pax to HNL?
Jetstar must be spreading a new global work harmony /equality plan.

I believe that the J* Cabin Crew share rooms, so it would be 2 to a suitcase!
