domestic airline prices

I've noticed that all Australian cariers have sold-out of reasonably affordable fares between Melbourne and Brisbane during the next month (at least). Only "fully flexible" fares are on offer fm approx $400 upwards.
Can anybody provide an explanation to this unusual situation?

I may have been hasty with my post. I have re-checked the prices, and they are back to normal. The expensive fares were advertised this Fri, Sat and Sun morning and the period of increased price went on for over a month. Wish i hadnt booked my ticket yesterday!
