Seems like a lot of 737 drivers will get there 777 rating! Not so many expats will be able to come home...very limited oportunities!!

Just like when J* wanted guys from overseas, they barly got any. So what makes people think we will leave EK CX or Dragon to go to VB. The industry in Oz sux at the moment, most guys here don't want to go back on such crap T & C's. That's why we left! and are still coming overseas. Great fun, great lifestyle.

EBA has to be voted in first - something about "calculating fowl before they emerge from the egg" comes to mind.

Also have a look at xkred27's post - far more succinct, but basically same as my own in previous thread.
Anyone who thinks anything other than superior T&C's will attract experienced crews back to Oz really have to get out into the real world more often and/or increase the dose of reality pills.

Still reckon AUD240K is where they should have a reasonable pool to draw from - make sure there's plenty of Cattylax around to assist the beancounters as they cough up furballs over THAT sort of a figure.

If the EBA gets up - so now VB who can't crew existing aircraft and are having 50% failures in upgrades are going to lose MORE experienced Captains to the longhaul plans so, the thoughts of how to the 73's being a sideline at the moment, the JJ's will be crewed by - even less experienced F/O's upgrading so new captains on a new type with new JJ F/O's straight out of GA with less decreasing total time/experience; and this is a good approach to airline/passenger safety???

Rumour has it that even the regulators (whether the Brekky Creek sub branch or Head Office is unclear), after sufficient scratching of nether regions, are getting nervous which can mean only one thing - arse covering memo's are being prepared for distribution! (at the very least.)

Maybe they will go the AN route of paying heaps of money over an indeterminate time to the manufacturer to provide training crews at rather high rates - and didn't that work an absolute TREAT for AN on the CRJ.
Thanks to the guys in bull**** castle (or one or two certain indivduals )
for that inspired piece of operational planning.

Of course with there being an absolute oversupply of experienced, rated crews desperate for work there should be no ..... wait, sorry, are you saying in the real world this is NOT the case??
But that's not what my managers are telling me!!
