One of our aircraft is missing
B737F crew turn up to empty bay.............the "Newer, faster, efficient, cheaper, larger payload 737" has fallen over again. In the shed for more repairs while the "old, slow, expensive freighters carry the morning papers to Tassie (ETA about 1600 hrs)
XMO should be called "Xtra Maintenance Ordered"
XMR should be called "Xtra Maintenance Required"
Can someone come up with something for the other regos?

Thanks propnut.
Punters at my RSL were grousing today because they didn't get their Herald-Sun.
Figured the freighter had fallen over, so now they will know who to blame.
It happens - better than operating a dodgy aeroplane.
Best regards

I remember once listening and watching a Bandit Captain dealing with a fractious passenger whom was quite upset that departure had been delayed due to a snag that the LAMEs were working to rectify as quickly as they could.
When the pax continued to grizzle the Captain finally said
''Well Sir, would you prefer that we took off without fixing the problem?''
The pax's jaw flopped open but no sound emitted! He did'nt say another word and five minutes later they boarded, the departure being about 40 min late.

The 146-300 could carry a full load of SLF, full baggage and 2000kgs of freight - the 200 has the same capability. Limiting factor was MLW so that should be reduced with the lighter fuselage of the 146 QT and less aeroplane with no nasty thingies like seats and catering.
Reckon the junior jumbo might just about be in the racein the uplift stakes considering single engine out performance is 75% not 50%.
FL30 might be a pipe dream though - 26 thou is looking like a nice comfy neighbourhood.

This aircraft would have to go down as one of the biggest sh!t boxes to come out of a fresh heavy maintenance check in recent times.
The defects are too many and varied to mention suffice to say that QF QS&RM (QA) are taking an interest in them and the majority of them do not relate directly to the cargo modification.
Lets hope the next two are somewhat better!
