VB flight return to Tulla

Anybody know the reason why yesterdays midday Virgin Blue flight MEL-ADL returned to MEL ? Pax reported cabin was quite hot & descent was rapid although I think this may have been perception due to ears hurting (pressurisation problem perhaps?) Capt announced the intention to return after about 20 mins into the flight.

Must've been the ADL United fans complaining about the service/flight/routing/turbulence/ticket cost...etc, etc, etc....

Both aircon packs tripped off passing 10,000ft. Aircraft returned to MEL unpressurised.

Unpressurised? Crikey, that was lucky! There could've been bits of pie floaters from here to Tailem Bend!!!

I would be interested to know what would cause both packs to trip off together.
Anyone know the cause?

Was'nt anything like that infamous incident, a few years ago, when a trg Cap returned with a pressurisation fault and the engineer walked into the flight deck and casually reached up and turned the bleeds on and said " give that a try " was it

I believe that it was caused by both ram air door actuators failing, for different reasons, and this caused both packs to overheat. Bit unfortunate really. I think one door had seized and damaged the motor, and the other was a problem with the connector on the motor. Allegedly.............

Two ram air door actuators failing at the same time????

How long was the actuator with a dicky connector playing up for??

How did the other door seize? It's Not exactly a common occurence.

It sounds like there is more to this story.
