OJA left AVV after heavy maint, OJA departed SYD qf5 bound for SIN.
AVV maint found a panel on docking left off after OJA had dept SYD.
Panel was deemed structural so the panel was to be fitted before further flight.
OJA diverted to CGK due to weather in SIN and QFs fuel policy being applied to all international flights rather than long rang where fuel V cargo V distance pays off ( but that is another debate)

OJA sits on ground CGK for 6 hours while panel is fabricated and fitted then flies to SIN for another 6 hour transit. Then off to FRA....

I hope the IFE was working on that flight.

That would have been a great flight to work on and I imagine that the pax would have been in a great mood especially the suits in J/C .An inop IFE would have been the icing on the cake.

If the panel was in fact unfitted as alleged, one has to ask why neither of the two technical crews nor ground engineers discovered this on their pre-departure checks.

It is also amazing that the media haven't picked this up and started scrutinising the misdaventure that results in this kind of alleged negligence.

Thankyou for your technical input !!

The missing panel can NOT be seen on a walk around.
To replace the missing panel other panels must be removed first.

Bolty,

Don't be concerned about BA as he has an unbridled jealousy of anyone who does not work in the office.

He will not miss a chance to have a shot at anyone else regardless of the facts.

He is the president of the Darth fan club and in fact he has posters of Darth around his house.
