ADVENT APPOINTS DIRECTOR TO SKYWEST


The Board of Advent Air announces today that Mr Tony Davis has been appointed a
director to two of its wholly owned subsidiaries: Skywest Airlines Pty Ltd and
Skywest Airlines (S) Pte Ltd.


In addition to the new appointment, Mr Davis currently holds the positions of
both President and Chief Executive Officer of Tiger Airways Pte Ltd a leading
Singapore based low cost airline. Tiger Airways Pte Ltd is an operator of
several Airbus A320 aircraft.


Mr Davis is a highly qualified airline executive with more than 20 years
aviation experience and has had a variety of operating positions in addition to
the Tiger Airways Pte Ltd roles, these included management positions at British
Midland Airways, Gulf Air Company GSC and British Airways PLC. Mr Davis was the
Managing Director of the British airline "bmibaby".


Advent Air Chairman Mr Jeff Chatfield said "I have nominated Mr Davis to the
airline operational board of Skywest with the dual objective to successfully
develop certain new commercial operations and also to continue to assist in the
development of the overall culture of our airline group. Mr Davis, with his
industry experience and in holding his current positions at Tiger Airways, is
ideally placed to assist the Company to continue to grow. Advent Air's group
revenues, passenger numbers and profits have dramatically increased in the last
3 years and to continue this growth we are developing world class aviation
resources and seek to continue to attract and retain professionals to the
Company's boards."


Airline Business Model


The airline business of the Company is based around servicing the needs of
business travellers within its operating sphere. The Company has no intention of
transferring airline operations to a typical low cost airline model, however, it
does see the value of applying proven techniques adopted by the most successful
low cost carriers. The combination of Skywest's demonstrable revenue earning
potential and improving track record with appropriate cost realignment is
designed to ensure continued positive profitable financial performance.


A Performance Warrant


The agreed remuneration for Mr Davis is almost entirely comprised of a new
warrant to subscribe for up to 2,000,000 ordinary shares in Advent Air Ltd with
terms including a subscription price being the average of the closing mid-price
for Advent Air shares on the 10 day period to the 24th of October 2006, with a
12 month time to expiry and the vesting of the warrant being company performance
based outcomes that are aligned with selected success milestones. Mr Davis has
provided an undertaking that none of the warrants may be exercised prior to the
publication of the June 2006 audited accounts for Advent Air.

Delivery of the first aircraft under the deal with Advent, is scheduled for November 2006 in Perth, Australia, with the remaining aircraft delivered, subject to both parties’ agreement, over an anticipated period of two years from November 2007. The first aircraft will be available on Skywest’s route network year round, following which, it is anticipated additional aircraft will be made available on a demand driven and seasonal basis every year.

Tony Davis getting involved could be VERY interesting given his very credible background. Any sound business plan that they develop has got to be good for both the travelling public AND for the professional pilot body as a whole.

BTW have got to ask why anything to do with Skywest causes almost instant anti-XR posts from C'linguist?

dijon mustard stated catagorically that the A320 would be up and running by the beginning of November, some 9 days away, and clearly that is not going to happen.

Dodgy, a months pay that Skywest ( as Dijon said 2 months ago ) will not have an A320 operating in their colours in 9 days.

What part of BS artist do you guys not comprehend

OK, OK I guess you have till the end of November, the bet's still on offer.

my good friend cunning, I'm not against you, I'm with you. I have said all along that skywest will not have a bus up and running by November, in fact I don't think it will ever happen. Now lets say for one moment that it does. Where do you put a 170 seat aircraft? Broome? wet season coming Virgin and the rat protecting some turf, it would last a few weeks at best before the operating costs alone kill it off, so no go there.

So Hedland? The rat now has 3 of mrs douglas' finest going in there daily. Frequency and capacity versus capacity only, I think not. Plus most of that work is contracted, so no go there.
Karratha? Just pulled out of there so obviously no support at all.
KGI? Not likely they struggle to get a load in the 50.
So where? Shark Bay? Kalbarri?

Unless there is a vast market that nobody knows about then its doomed anyway. Even if the bus is placed on some of their jet routes what do they do with the 100's? They still have to pay the leasing costs on those and I know for a fact they're not cheap so they can't sit around gathering dust. So the 100s go on the 50 routes? No because those routes are protected unless they put a jet on them then guess what, it's then open slather with competition so there is no way that is going to happen.

So just where are they with all this? I'd would suggest a Chairman who knows sweet FA about the industry has shot his mouth off at some p1ssup, got somes buses then without doing due dilligence, announced it to the market. I betcha the poor old skywest managers are running trying to make something, anything fit for a 320.
So no, not november, probably not at all.

If they put the $$ into a decent econcomy/business class product, they'd make a killing. How many people have you heard say "If anyone else did business class I'd fly them because QF suck!!" I'd be pretty well off if I had a buck for every person that's said that to me!

OK cunning you must be one of the most "cynical and bitter" persons/posters i have ever seen on this "d&g" board ; your general views/insight on aviation are always "bitter/negative and twisted" .you need to get out in the "sunshine" because something is eating you !!!!!!!!!!

Firstly Cunning, I have been told by a reliable source that the 320's are going to be deployed on Bali and other SE Asian routes.

Dijon, while you may thing others are negative toward XR you seem to be very PRO XR..... Back to the topic, the new appointment to the SkyWest board is a positive move forward for SkyWest and will help their cause greatly when the 320's begin flying into ASIA.

I was told last week that the XR CEO has put out an email to all staff stating the A320 introduction has be postponed until further notice.

Not really much of a surprise. They finally read the fine print on the lease agreement. XR thought they were getting the 320`s for free (idiots), but it was going to cost them an arm and a leg, including a big share of the profits the 320s made.
