Employee dupes airline out of half a million

A former airline employee has been charged with defrauding the carrier out almost $500,000, New South Wales detectives have revealed.
A 33-year-old man was arrested by detectives after receiving a complaint from the airline about the missing money.
Police will allege the man obtained $493,390 through the authorisation of a series of false tax invoices over a period of two-and-a-half years.
The man was questioned before being charged with 14 counts of making a false instrument.
The man was bailed to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on August 17.
Police did not reveal which airline the man was employed by.
