EasyJet: Increases pay offer to crew AND increases profit forecast
The new CEO Andy Harrison has come in to find a demoralized work-force due to the confrontational style of his predecessor, Ray "Shredder" Webster, and has taken several initiatives to try and improve morale.
Improved Staff Travel, new uniforms, Pilots pay deal worth 10% over two years (as opposed to the last offer under Ray which was-err- basically nothing) and now it looks like an improved roster pattern (5-3-5-4).
Don't get me wrong, we are all still working close to max hours and are having a hellish summer due to acute under-crewing (another legacy of Ray!), but Mr Harrison is defiantly showing you can improve profit by improving product delivery and smarter pricing, rather than by a constant assault on costs and employee terms and conditions (Listening Geoff? No...I didn't think so!!)
