I am about to give up on pprune. Not because of the other members, but because it's not really "democratic".

Turbo 5B,
I agree with you as well. Each question about QF engineers were all about different aspects.

What a mess now!

Sorry if our future bores you Woomera!

Havn't checked out the thread in a few days and it appears to have escalated into a debate with many different issues merging into one.
Yes I have read the letterhead flyer and it is I suppose what the members needed to read from the new Exec.
The closure of Sydney Heavy has as it should scarred the landscape of Aircraft Maintenance in this country.
I doubt the former Exec or the current one could have prevented this Board driven occurence.
No individuals at Worker member level can be held accountable for decisions that occur in the lofty and closeted offices of contract/bonus paid Shareholder Representatives.
Those characters are driven by Market forces and as humans make decisions for other humans.
Opec members decide the extent of your disposable income. try and change their minds when this financial year you struggle to make school fees.
I think you will be met with a stone wall of dispassionate silence.

A relatively small group of people make decisions for the many let us hope at least this new Exec will make the right ones.

If nothing else as they are the incumbents during hazardous Work Choices times, they should have our guidance and support.
No doubt all you monitors wary, hostile and loyalist will making sure the message is clear we are not blindly heading into the next 4 years.

So Sonhouse, you are admitting that unions are ineffectual and that nothing can be done about what happens at Board level?

Woomera
Definition by fact, an extension of the arm to propel an object further away from its source than can be achieved by conventional means.

Why Woomera?

Woomera,
Poor judjement shown again, are you being threatened or controlled by the Big Q? There are new threads started regulary, they die a quick death if of no interest, we all remain lost at your continued over regulation of topics and who they are started by. Why cancel threads that are popular in their own right, or merge them to confuse the topic. Ironically the threads you leave active and without question one wonder? The latest "Canberra fuel shortage" wow?

It may be time for the assn to re-open their forum. What do you guys think? I have some good mates in there and I can use some of my influence to make it happen if supported.

What, and lose the entertaiment value of the great toolbelted one and his rantings of wisdom?

Dare I start another Engineering thread, I will ask the question here.

The latest ALAEA notice pointing out a descrepancy in the 1995 Financial Statement, and thankyou for being so open and quick to inform us of the mistake.

Question: Was this oversight (or typo) meant to see the light of day prior to the new Executive, it seems a pretty good remuneration for someone?

That should be the 2005 financial year report.
19% super? Not bad if you can get it.

Red face

Just goes to show how easy it can be to make a typo error, must engage the brain first next time. Still good money though, and we are paying for who ever it is, may even be more than one. Hope they are earning their keep.

The ones I sent in Feb came back marked as unread shortly after the election results. I suspect that the inboxes were being cleared out.
You might have to resend your email, I know I am going to.

I had the same problem, I believe there was a technical issue when emails transferred to the new guard apparently the delete button got "jammed" and a lot were lost. This happened to more than one individual I hear!
So I guess you best resend if you want an answer
