hypocrisy?? YES!!!
Rumour, well no, fact has it that Alex, the creator of THE list has applied for a job at Air Pacific.
Would the average man think this is hypocrisy? I believe he would.
After 16 years of pouring scorn on decent people, he has applied for a job working with them. Air Pac has many pre 89 Ansett pilots.
After 16 years of working to prevent them being employed at various airlines around the world, he has applied for ajob to work with those very people he has worked against.
This has to be the most hypocritical creature that ever drew breath.
Alex, you are a JOKE.
I don't believe there is a pilot there with sufficient malice in him to attempt to prevent it happening, so whether he is employed will be on merit.

hang on, I think you might have your wires crossed. I always thought the names on the list were those of the 'returnees'(post 89) so that would mean the 'pre 89 Ansett guys' you talk about are actually his mates.

Terminology!!
Pre loveds, pre 89, what's in a word? Whatever YOU want to call them, you may.
Creator/promulgator... words and opinion.
A point worth noting though is that a few who should be on there because they fitted his definition of 'negotiating, applying, etc., prior to the AFAP saying it was OK' are not.
The point I make is the utter hypocrisy of it all, and my understanding is he created the list. But now it will come back to bite him as we so often see in life.
Somebody who displayed such vigour in ensuring others weren't employed elsewhere in the world is now looking for a job, and prepared to work with those he so severely castigated.
Words may only be words, but hypocrisy is still hypocrisy!
And the facts are correct Woomera. He applied, and that is the only point I put forward here as fact.

His web site contains a very extensive and factual account of the events leading up to and during the dispute of 1989.
Anyone who's name is on "the list" is there because they put themselves on it by their own actions.
Maybe you should "Relax" a little.

Sid,
It's obvious which side you are on.
The list and associated article is but one person's account of what happened, no more and no less, and there would be hundereds of contrary accounts, so no importance can be placed on that.
I am not getting involved in arguments about 89. Want to hear it again?
I AM NOT GETTING INTO ARGUMENTS ABOUT 89
It wasn't even a half clever attempt to have me do so, divert the discussion and probably have the thread closed or me sidelined for a while.
I am focussing on the hypocrisy of publishing and updating the list, treating those thereon with absolute scorn, and then applying to work with them.
Those former AN pilots with AirPac are decent, unvindictive, mature blokes. Let's see if Alex gets a run on merit.
Incidentally there is one who also poured scorn on those good blokes working with them in Japan. I can't remember his nom de plume right now, but I think it may be a distant star.
