Post rumours - DJ / QQ

This is a rumour mill, so...

There seem to be some persistant rumours about a tie up between Alliance and Virgin. Makes sense - the F100s could be a good option for smaller DJ routes and could open up further opportunities...

Anyone know anything more or is there as much credibility in these rumours as those about Gold Airways or Singapore Airlines starting a new domestic airline downunda?

From what I have heard on the rumour mill VB is looking at both international and regional flying. Seperate feasability studies are currently underway at HQ and hopefully some answers will be forth coming by the end of the year or sooner.

Watch this space...

From DJ HQ, National Jet and their fleet of 146's are being considered. Probably helps that half of Virgin are ex National Jet! Definitely watch this space!!!!

sorry to burst the bubble boys, but i can tell you with certainty that the aliance thing is not being looked at nor is the national jet thing you are talking about. The nat Jet/qantas contract wouldnt allow it anyway.
The word from our HQ is that they have options on about 9 regional jets, the EMB but nothing has been decided. They have and are having talks with REX at the moment also. REX reps have visited bris many times lately. But again nothing decided from what I have heard. Still no definate on Long Haul either.

The same thing was rumoured some time ago with a tie-up between DJ and XR on the west coast, in fact I am 100% sure that a code-share was discusssed in some format.

DJ have been to-ing and fro-ing on whether to go regional jets or not for some time, but seem very slow to make any decision...
