Tried to do this with TAA (remember them) in the '70's... soon received a telephone call or two from Carlton (Unions HQ in those days) "asking" me to cease and stop!! Why? Too many Union staff would lose their jobs.

But it makes sense. If QF went on strike and VB didn't... do you think QF wouldn't do something quick smart. It's privatised now and they couldn't afford not to be flying for too long... and management can't do everything.

I know in the old days neither TAA or Ansett on their own could carry 100% of the travelling public, but nowadays getting additional aircraft on a short (or indeed long) term charter is not so difficult.

Think about it.

Grrr Pruning required

I read in the Gardening lift out in the Sunday Tele that NOW is the time to get out and do some gardening!!!!!!
PASS THE CHAIN SAW............. its time to remove some TWIGGS before they grow out of control ......The once beautiful shaped tree will become distorted and take over the rest of the garden if not cut down to size so that the other plants can flourish and bloom for years to come !!.

interesting

qantas , australian airlines and jetstar have applied for international airservice agreements to bo extended /renewed/ codeshared/amended for northern summer 2006. it also gives you an oversight of flying to some parts of asia between QF/AO/J*

You same 6 or 7 clowns that post on here have been going around and around with the same crap for 2 years now. No wonder you all got booted from the CC forum. Virtually every post is littered with personal attacks, disagreement and unsubstantiated claims. It's actually very, very boring to read.

Fair dinkum, if they gave me the ticket I would never fly on QF having been on here and given a stark insight to what a miserable, spoilt bunch you people are. What a horrendous experience it must be to fly LH as a passenger with QF, you must make them feel like you are really doing them a favour by being there.

As I posted 18 months ago, you can't stop change and I encouraged you then to embrace it and therefore have some control over it's direction. But, you all just carried on with your negative crap, anti-management crap, anti-government crap, anti-union crap and all the while QF was planning to get rid of you and get other people to do the job who really enjoy it and are appreciative of what they've got and what they can offer. And you were all too blind to see it.

Now, the time has come, your jobs and your flying are on the way out and you have absolutely no control over it. I really have absolutely no sympathy for any of you.

Like I said and just as I expected....Virtually every post is littered with personal attacks.

I may not earn as much as you but I sure do have 100 times more job security, I love working where I do and our flying is expanding, not contracting. Good luck with your future, you are going to need it.

Hark. The lunatic [and hypocrite] speaks....

The following is a post YOU made earlier this year rock dweller.

"Same bunch of overweight, over-it whingers carrying on with the same crap as usual. Get a life, get a new job and get out of Qantas. There are thousands who would take your job tomorrow.

Flying longhaul? Fly Emirates!"

Get help.
You need it.

Mostie, you have demonstrated that I have been pointing out the bleeding obvious for a very long time. It pretty much mirrors what I wrote tonight.

Many thanks

The only "bleeding obvious" is you should change your ID to Jet Black Hyundai.

JBM,
Jealousy is a curse they say.
Yes there is some whinging and anger with management that gets aired on here. There is also plenty of stuff to whinge about. Yes change is here, yes we will embrace it as we always have(not that theres a choice) we are employees remember. But that does not prevent us from having a right to offer constructive criticism. Yes the criticism does go from constructive to emotional at times. Which highlights 3 things.

1 We do care about our job and the product and the customer - that is why we take issue over some "changes'. Fortunately our management hasn't stooped so low as one airline that wont allow wheelchair passengers to travel unaccompanied. How Un australian - how pathetic.

2 We all owe a big thank you to P Prune for offering us this forum to discuss, vent, get passionate, joke , and maybe (hopefully) educate each other. So thank you P Prune and the moderators for being so patient. we can be trying at times.

3 Finally, the likes of you JBM who tells us how we should cope under our job changes and criticises our opinions in our workplace. You missed the boat JBM for whatever reason you are'nt a QF F/A it is bad luck get over it. By the way the passengers (all around the world) just love Qantas crew. We are world famous for our consistent genuine warm service and delivery. The likes of you serve to remind us the type of Companies we could be working for. Fortunately i like to think your colleagues aren't anything like you Please look up the words bitterness, jealousyand mirror in the dictionary, preferably in that order.

Is it true that there are 3 training groups of AKL based casuals coming through? Apparently they are going to be like the MAM casuals in short haul..

midnight there are changes happening!
One of the things being discussed is a base of casuals in AKL.
NO holidays, sick leave, etc, you know the deal!
From what I hear new contracts are on the way with AKL jet connect, and they aren't nice!
QF seem to be under the impression that the pool of wannabe is inexhaustible, they want to see how low the benchmark can be set at
From the rumblings that I hear it makes the Jet star conditions look fantastic.
