Flight crew Licencing
Talking with a former colleague earlier this week, and he tells me that CASA has a new software package for flight crew licences. I would suggest to all that they check their licences as this program drops off things like Senior Commercial Licences, as they no longer are issued. While this sounds practical, it can leave holes in your record of approvals etc, and your licence really isn't a true and accurate record of licences,approvals and ratings held.
My latest licence confirms this. The SCPL has been replaced by another qualification date for the CPL - so I recommend that you check any new licence aginst the detail on the last one you received, and if the historical stuff has disappeared, retain the last one for your records. Its your history after all.
I also had a type removed that now only exists in a museum.
I asked CASA why the historical stuff had disappeared. Naturally I didn't get a satisfactory answer!!

Just a slight addition, thoroughly check your licence when it is returned with a renewed rating etc: added and you might just find some endorsements missing (as I did) and it took 2 phone calls and 2 extra re issues to rectify the problem.
Always retain your old licence as proof as it could be mighty handy in later years as proof of qualifications held previously.

recently added an aircraft type to my licence and when the new licence came back, it was a Special pilots licence. no PPL or CPL anywhere on it. I rang licensing and requested the problem be rectified and was told "sorry about that, someone pushed the wrong button. I'll print and post you a new one". it arrived three days later, all correct and accounted for. Well done CASA for the timely and friendly service I recieved.

Bring back the old license again, I say. When ones goes to a selection anyway around the world, the attention level picks up when presenting the 'good old book'. 
Sure the electronic print out is easier to update but...
Between the new CASA fees & the software, I amazed that many of the CASA employees don't go whackers trying to work with the it. I usually had great experience with licensing esp. when comparing to other country's licensing section. They are usually helpful of their own accord and come up with constructive solutions; with the exception of these AVID/ASIC mess
