717 in WA: engines and MTOW

I'm looking at the Boeing 717s in the WA network. Can anyone help me with details of what engines are fitted - the 18,500lb or the 21,000 lb thrust ones?
A previous PPRUNE post (Feb last year) mentioned that the MTOW was going to be raised from the Impulse figure of 51710 kg to 53,524 kg for the WA ops. The PPRUNE search function isn't working right now so I can't find it again. Did this MTOW upgrade ever get done?
BTW - if the engines are 18,500lb and the MTOW has been increased, it must be Really Exciting coming out of some ports.
Thanks in advance

Re: 717 in WA: engines and MTOW

I would have thought things would only ever get exciting with an engine failure at or above V1 - after all that is the worst case scenario where performance with regard to TDR and obstacle clearance is supposed to be guaranteed but with tight margins and lots of things going right. Remember the the MTOW is a maximum structural weight and if it has been increased with no attendant increase in thrust then the aircraft will probably performance limited anyway.

A hot day (35~40 deg) may well restrict the TOW to well below the published structural MTOW.

OR,

Yes, Yes and Yes!

Nothing the regional specialists can't handle though!

Capt. Bloggs you should ask the people who gave you a 1% pay cut and a $15,000 bill, they must have all the answers in the bottom draw.
Wouldn't worry to much you see more 717's in Perth sitting around with 1 engine only due to a lack of spares so just enjoy the good days when you have 2 engines dear Bloggs.

Bloggs, you must listen to QF Troll. He is one of the mighty, the enlightened, the mainline, from the land of nocompromise. Listen to him.

Oh QF Troll, oh mighty one, tell us again of the Great EBA Battle, in which the ARG led the AIPA to fight and vanquish the Evil One, Geoff Dixon. Tell us again how you threw that treacherous EBA right back in their faces. Sixty one percent said NO!!!

But what was that? Sixty one percent said yes?

I suppose he's now a sh!tkicker like the rest of us then.

60% is a good figure and thats about it's daily performance with regard to the schedule and uplift. Even the ferry God mother has run out patience and dived for cover, should be all behind them in a couple years.

Quoll,

Capt. Bloggs you should ask the people
Ask them what? I'm not asking the questions, I'm providing the answers. I suggest you bugger off this thread and let us have a reasoned discussion for a change.
