no more J class for Qlink
apparently as of Jan 1 06 the big chairs will be pulled out of the reamaining 146s in the NJS qlink fleet and replaced with additional Y class and with the 717s all Y, it will be an end of an era. Huge pity for the people of the west as the girls (and guys) of NJS did a great job and the service was far and above that of mainline.

I don't know whether or not QFLink j/class service was better than mainline, on mainline we would have them complaining about how they had to travel QFLink by force sometimes. There is still j/class service in the west, infact every QF mainline service that operates in the west to KTA, KGI, BME has a j/class service and always has. The mining contracts won't walk because there's no other airlines to do it with the exception of Skywest and Skippers etc which fly to the smaller towns, but there's no way they can carry the loads. The mining companies have specialised contracts with QF mainline that are stand alone services purely because of the agreement the companies have with Qantas. It is very different flying aswell, generally crewed by the same people the passengers know nearly all of the crew and vice versa, something of which would be hard to come by and start up again on another airline. At the end of the day, these corporates aren't like corporates from SYD and MEL and are usually quite happy to travel in y/class. They will have the option of travelling all economy on QFLink or two class on QF mainline. It's interesting though that they're doing this considering that the flying in WA, KTA, KGI etc brings in majority of the money for QF over other areas of the QF domestic network.

I fly KTA-PER, PER-KTA ever couple of months, Flown biz class once because i asked really nicely and i knew the person at check in, absolutley awesome service considering it is a 2hr flight. To me its a waste of money, but the companys up here use it.
Havent seen a BAE in KTA for ages, have they been withdrawn from PER-KTA?

Got that right, one CC member calls me Mr Special flown with her 4 time in the last year and remembers me.
