I can really notice the evolution from 757/767 to 777..now the 787.
Looking at the overhead and centre consol..everything where you would expect....a nice little conversion course onto it me thinks

It's remarkably advanced!!
(Note - It's sitting on the runway, engines & radar going, but no pilots in the seats!)

Not really what is out of the frame, are the pilots bailed up by the dog, who's job it is to stop them from touching any thing.
He's half an engineer .... he breaks things for others to fix!!

Nice futuristic nav-bags...
They report it is the same lay-out as the 777 cockpit but the MFDs are completely different and the layout of the centre pedestal is totally different too.
Hopefully Boeing have finally paid attention to some of their traditional weak-points in cockpit ergonomics:
- airflow
- lighting
- cooling fan noise
- seat comfort... but those seats don't look any better for parking ya butt in hour after hour and I guess it'll never change
I only see one coffee-cup holder per side.....
"Johnny, would you like to see where we hang our coats...?"

Just looks like a slightly modified 737NG flight deck to me!
Also, thats the same outside scene thats on my coffee mug with the 737NG flight deck, I guess they use it for most everything!
Cheers, FD

The tool who described the NG as a
is a twit with no idea. I think Flight International published his letter just to embarrass him publicly.
The NG features, among other things,
a new wing,
new engine (new model of the CFM56),
FADEC,
full EFIS,
strengthened fuselage,
wing-body strake,
higher tail with modified rudder and digital yaw damper,
digital anti-skid,
longer main gear to avoid tail-strike,
higher ceiling,
higher cruise speed,
higher MTOW,
lower takeoff/approach speeds and
lower fuel burn.
He obviously flies the bang-bus and thinks that's the way ahead... He obviously has no idea the outside of the "Mondeo panel" hasn't changed very much for reasons of type commonality.
The 787 doesn't have a side-stick because the 777 doesn't have a side-stick. Commonality again, you see. Mixed fleet flying.
The 777 doesn't havbe a side-stick because the fat, crusty old farts at United who got involved in design feedback complained it wasn't manly enough with a "faggoty side-stick".
"Only Bang-Bus poofters use a gay little side-stick," they said, "And hold it with two fingers, as though they have their hand on another man's shlong..."
So Boeing, much to their later chagrin, elected to listen to them and go with a yoke.
No hosties on the laps for Boeing pilots for the foreseeable future.
