Smile Post Reply Button

As a fresh face novice with a Apple MAC (not by choice), can anyone tell me why I can not get post reply buttons so I can engage in discussion, to appear on any of the forums please. Sorry for using band width for such a menial task.

Mac Use

I'm using a Mac right now and I can use the "post reply" button OK.

However, when using the Mac, I cannot get the "http://" or "quote" button to work. The site won't allow me to cut and paste anything using the Mac so, if I have something serious to say and want to quote someone's post in response, I have to wait until I return to work and use my PC.

That's odd. Even Towers runs a Mac (or at least used to....)

What browser are you guys using for the Mac?

I PM'd a reply from PPRuNe Towers to CI. Don't know anything about Macs but Rob seems to think it's a security setting thing.

Thanks for the tips lads. The AD BLOCKING was causing all the problems.
Cheers CI.

That's right oh interupted one.

It afflicts mainly PC users who are by far the most likely to use third party add ons for various security/annoyance reasons.

Here's the science part:

You want to block ads, particularly pop ups. Good on you. However, with the setting volume turned up to 11 on the knob the software is looking for and blocking anything even faintly resembling a pop up box.

The result is it takes a look at our page loading and picks on our reply button (most commonly) with it's subliminal messages telling you to send us money in an off white font. On some set ups other boxes/buttons can disappear but your problem is the most often experienced.

Dial down the settings until the reply button reappears is always the cure.

Regards to all,
rob lloyd
