Nah, it's all those 89's that are now working back in Australia for less than what they fought for in 89 so naturally the airline can afford cheap fares. aint that right good Kapt M?

Cool

Looks to me as though the Aussie pilots got what they deserved from 1989, Petie.
Those who wanted to work there are back, and the majority of those that helped f#*k the system have been culled, in the main.

Ain't THAT right, good Pete?!!!

Poor old KRAPTIN.I worked from 90 to 2001 for AN and earned a couple of mil and kept one.Now a lot of the clowns that allowed that to happen are helping to grow my establishment by working for low wages and providing cheap airfares.Keep up the good work boys, and Krappy get a job with virgin and do your share.

I wouldn't worry Kaptin. It's obvious from Pete's post that he hasn't yet seen the train coming.

Wink

Picked up a couple of tickets for my sons a few days back, SYD - CHC (Christchurch) - SYD, $328 + taxes, and BNE-CHC-BNE, $318 + taxes.
It seems that Australians were really paying through the nose for air travel - and the airlines creaming BIG time - years ago.

Pete's already taking it up the khyber, Selac66, when you consider how much QF pilots are NOT getting paid, compared with pilots in other countries....and, as you say, there's more on the way for them. Not that that gives me any sense of pleasure - it's just a shame that QF pilots don't have the balls to take a stand against the erosion of their conditions.

Yeah Kap, we are so used to getting shafted now it feels normal.

QF pilots will never do anything as long as AIPA is around. It's their job to do what the company wants but dress it up for the troops/peasants. It could have been worse you know!

It goes like this...

AIPA: If it wasn't for us you would be sleeping in a tent under the wing so be thankful we got you a room with a bed (of nails).

The required response.

Membership: Thank you oh great one. You have saved us once more from those bent on our destruction. Our humble (mega) shekels in contributions seem hardly worthy for the protection you give us.

It is an interesting strategy of filling aircraft with customers paying less than cost!

There will be continued pressure on terms and conditions whenever this stupid approach to business prevails.

Actually Bonvol I think we deserve it at times - one ex 1990s Shorthaul Captain said the other day we shouldnt be staying in nice hotels and asking for a good standard, why? because he used to sleep on his plane and thats ok!

If we aim low we will achieve it eh.....
