Cold rumour (although accurate compared to your hot rumour)!!!!
There will be NO decision at all made on a regional network or type until the Take-over bid is finshed/resolved. Only thing confirmed at latest board meeting is that this will be looked at sometime in the next 18 months........ Sorry to burst your bubble!

T bone perhaps you failed maths at school. The 737 situation is :endorsement cost of around $20,000, usually tax deductible. F/O earns $85K+ Captain $145K+
Why would a regional jet operation be significantly worse in terms and conditions?
Yep, sounds awful, imagine having to live in an awful place like Brisbane on that sort of salary. What a scandal.

Which way?
These figures have been published on Pprune and I checked with three different current VB crew. Mostly they take home more than those quoted minimums. However if you have more accurate figures perhaps you would like to share them rather than simply suggesting that the ones I have posted are incorrect.
Wouldn't that be more constructive?

Saw a QF S/O's payslip recently and would conservatively estimate he will get $150 this year. Still a big disparity in pay scales in this country.
Anything less than say about $180 to $200 for a Captain in VB should be the norm based on existing conditions in this country. Hopefully the wages go upwards well and truly in the next EBA periods.

Crusty,
Your QF S/O mate must have been top of the B744 list. This is not the norm with the S/O scales varying greatly.
Guys on the B767 are lucky to get $85K for the same job. (Actually more work these days seeing they can still be in the seat till 5000ft unlike the A330 and B744 guys).

The topic was "VB Board Approves Regional Jets" which appears to be nothing short of a wild rumour - then in ten posts the thread turns into "My QF SO wages are bigger than yours."
What a useless waste of Danny's band width!
Time for the big lock!
And if you don't like the decision, complain to management!!
