Adelaide "Emergency" Today?

The ABC are reporting that a freighter full of steel could not wait for the lifting of curfew at Adelaide this morning and had to land at about 4.00am because he was running low on fuel.

Assuming the ABC report is somehow correct, I wonder how this will be treated by the powers that be?

Is it a curfew busting incident with statutory reserves intact, or is it a curfew bust with statutory reserves not intact?

What fuel should it have been carrying?

Over to older and wiser heads.

Thanks Icarus. I was wondering how Sunfish was going to reconcile the two hour difference bewteen landing time and curfew-end time.

Sounds like a big flight planning stuff up doesn't it Sunfish? Or was it? Sounds to me like you've swallowed yet another press furphy hook line and sinker.

The crew was advised by Centre that substantial penalties apply for landing during the curfew, and asked did they wish to divert. The answer was negative.

was apparently a Kalitta Air 747. Supposedly flew over our informants source house at 4am for arrival to Rwy 30. Though i doubt it landed or went near RWY 30.(other than crossing it on landing)

Captain Blogg's thats the question I'm asking you! And I did preface my query with the words "Assuming the ABC report is somehow correct".
