Can only agree, times are changing and one must look ahead. By the way, the M23 I operated in the tropics had a freon airconditioner fitted, and you could freeze the pax very easily. The 1900D or C won't make money on the centre run, as the operating costs are higher than a Metro, even with Rayethon offering very attractive lease arrangements.

Ops N,

The venerable 146 will comfortably get into and out of both TFC & Katherine. With only one 146 flight each way each day, to do what you suggest would play havoc with the current schedule which allows a full business day in Alice.

Clarrie, I understand where you are coming from re: the full business day. What would be your thoughts (I believe I'd be able to guess due the lateness of the afternoon departure out of Alice), of making alternating day DN-TN-TNK-AS (am, afternoon scheduled AS dct DN), and the alternating day AS-TNK-TN-DN (pm, morning flt from DN to AS unchanged)? Therefore enabling the route to be serviced at least once a day, albeit in one direction only. I can't say that I am aware of how your routes are structured to position yourselves in and out of DN, and from which ports they originate, but would hazard a guess that it wouldn't create too much of an issue except that from Alice you'd need to restructure down the line? I can't remember, which way do you guys head after the AS am inbound flt? AYE, BNE, CNS?

The only reason I was a bit sus on operating the 146 into and out of TNK was that TNK's 07/25 is shorter and has more obstacles a lot closer than Alice's 12/30. I've seen 146's at Alice delay departure due temperature, and would have thought that with TNK's shorter runway etc that the 146 might have been ruled-out for that stop.

Perhaps those temperature related delays were a follow-on from a high pax load (something that mightn't be as much a consideration on the Centre-Run route)? I'd be happy to be wrong here.

Regards,
OpsN.

For one to utilise the increased TBO, one must employ Trend monitoring and have someone who can interpret it.

Have a copy of Wicking's cartoon comment on the pull out. Will post it when I figure out how to do it.
