The Liberal/National Coalition came to power in March 1996.

QANTAS was initially privatised in the 1992/93 financial year via a trade sale of shares (not a public float) with a public float of the remaining shares completed in 1995/96, when Keating was Prime Minister.

Airservices Australia was formed by legislation enacted 30 June 1995.

Telstra shares went on sale in 1997/98 under the Coalition.

I don't know the dates for Australia Post, but I believe it was around the early days of the Coalition/last dates of Labor. Couldn't say for sure there.

I think it was in 1975, The Australian Postal Commission (Australia Post) was established to replace the Postmaster General's Department.

It seems old ground is being trodden over again and again about NAS, so I thought I would chuck my bit in.

NAS 2b is less save than what was previous, as the Senates Estimates Commitee showed, those delivering NAS new that safety is reduced enroute!

There lies the crux of the argument for me.

Why change something that has a good safety record, to something that is less safe?

I am not anti change, but change needs to be for the better, it should go forward, for the betterment of all, and not change for changes sake, or because we can!

The way the more dangerous changes were introduced have been found to be both illegal and inept. The information and time given to users of the system to adapt have been found, in hindsight, to be flawed.

As an Australian I am proud of out unique airspace, and of our processes and professionalism that created it, however I feel as though this has been seriously degraded in the worlds view because of this debarcle, the fact that it has happened is the problem, we now must move forward and make sure that these types of things do not, and cannot happen in the future!

As for blame and accountability, by all means, this should be investigated, but first I hope we regain our stature in world of aviation before saying whom and why this happened, and if we are adult about it can say to the world, hey look what happened to us, and here is how and why it happened, make sure it doesn't happen to you!

The 100 posts is no longer an issue and we can now go for longer for the issues that really light up the PPRuNers.

However, we are sarting to go around in circles and perhaps it's time to lighten the server load a bit.
