Errant bird grounds Virgin plane
Monday, 20 September 2004

Virgin Blue has blamed a bird strike for the grounding of one of its aircraft in Broome at the weekend.

The bird hit the plane as it was preparing to touch down on Saturday.

The return flight to Perth was delayed for 16 hours while engineers were flown up to inspect the plane's engine.

It is the third bird strike on the Broome to Perth route in the past month.

Wonder if they'll suspend an ATC over the incident?

I think Dick should take mother Nature to court over the dangers that she places on Aviation every year.

EWL,
We hit two plovers today, one on landing then one on takeoff. Does that count?

No damage thankfully.

Not a bad place to get 'grounded'. Would love to have been at the beach party with them.
