Cheap fares drag them off the Firefly bus and rail and place them in the realms of the well heeled air traveller.
Sure this is the current way, but just have a good hard look at the Jetscar or DJ checkin lines, and then at the QF line.
The 2 budget carriers have become the airborne equivalent of the Spirits of Tasmania (1 and 2 at least - 3 on the SYD run is far too dear for the subspecies). Housing Commission taxis.
Now the punters can get to another state and claim the dole or their single parents allowance for their 5 kids (with 5 different fathers) in a different state within hours.
Isnt life bleeding wonderful - and we are paying for the scumbags.
Unfortunately, one seems to have leaked onto QF mainline.

Look again at those check in queues EWL.
The number of suites climbing aboard DJ is staggering.
As for Cleetus and the tribe, they are just as likely to be in the QF line as any other.
Now days, people just shop for price and as often as not QF are just as cheap.
Sign of the times.

smokestak - I take whatyou say onboard, and know you are right. On the short/medium hauls we are booking as much DJ as QF for our corporates. However these are at higher but acceptable and affordable fares. The sub species is on the move every time there is a sale on.
I can guarantee you would not want your daughter in the same building as the average rock ape these sales (which seem to be fairly constant) drag down from the trees.
Unfortunately East West attracted their share of them with low fares. On numerous occasions I refused boarding to particularly smelly or dirty passengers, particularly during the Franklin Dam dramas down here in Tassie.
