SURVEY METHODOLOGY

The survey is commissioned and undertaken by Skytrax

Research of London, UK. No outside sponsorship or external

influence is applied to any aspect of the Survey - making it

probably the most respected Passenger Survey of it's type

in the world.

Over 93 different nationality of travellers submitted eligible, completed questionnaires in the 2004 Cabin Staff of the Year survey (182,455

survey responses were deleted due to duplicate submissions, or where

the input was not considered to be bona-fide or indpendent).

Survey data was gathered using a range of input sources:

Skytrax Online Customer Survey

Skytrax Business Research Group

Customer Telephone Interviews

Selective Passenger Interviews

Additional research was conducted by detailed back-up interviews

amongst a representative sample of Survey respondents. This

research was to gain respondent reasons for airline nominations.

Data weighting was applied to provide nomination equity when

evaluating airlines of different size and network. Data weighting

used 2002-3 passenger numbers for airlines in the Survey (based

on IATA, Airline Business ranking data, and published airline

passenger figures).
