Exclamation Warning Sign Jetstar Is In Trouble Already.

There is a very big advertisement in our newspaper today, offering flights on Jetstar at 2 for 1, that is if you buy 1 at normal prices you get a second free.

Now while this could be just another marketing move, anyone that knows much about the history of Airlines in Australia (that means put your hand DOWN Watchdog ) would know that IF your Aircraft are flying with good loadings already, you do NOT do this.

This is the kind of thing Compass did in their last desperate weeks of operation, in fact from memory in their last days they even offered 3 for 1.

I sincerely hope Jetstar are not in that much trouble already, because I would like to at least see their A320s.

Also of course if they collapse, then Watchdog would have even more time to post here.

Airsupport.

The whole idea of marketing (particularly with an airline) is to get bums on seats initially and take away business from the opposition.
This is called competition and VB should be very concerned at what it stands to do to their planned expansion not to mention passenger loadings.

Lets face facts.
Punters dont give a hoot as long as the fare is cheap and they get to where they want to go in one piece and on time.

Interesting to see where this business/social experiment leads us.

AIRSUPPORT (lame clone)

So, I see you are a qualified airline commercial/marketing executive as well ...

If you were, you would know this is normal commercial practice in order to build brand awareness, market share etc etc esp for a new company

It can hardly be likened to Compass I and II

and reference your posting re a collapse .. that is a sad sad comment

Obviously you people do not understand.

Jetstar have been claiming everywhere that they already have VERY good loadings.

Now IF this is true, they would not be offering 2 for 1 flights, you only do this when you are desperate to fill your Aircraft.

IF you don't know much about Airlines, just compare it to pizzas or videos.

Pizza shops and video outlets offer 2 for 1 on Tuesdays usually, why?

Because on those days things are quiet, and they want people to buy pizzas and rent videos.

They don't offer 2 for 1 when they have plenty of customers.

Oh airsupport lame,
I guess what you will say next is they would be offering two for one because the turnarounds are less than 30 mins and they are an unsafe airline.
Guess you have 40 years experience in marketing too huh

Airsupport credibility = lame credibility = 0 (again)

Watchdog,

I realise you do not understand.

It is probably not your fault, nowadays it is always the fault of someone else, your teachers maybe? but your continual silly attacks on me do you no credit.

In the unlikely event you have something sensible to say, on this subject or any subject, PLEASE PLEASE say it.

As I have said before, attacking me isn't going to solve anything, do you have anything at all constructive to say?

airsuport

Perhaps it is Jetstar's way of keeping their name in the public's eye! Virgin used to do it all the time with "we are the cheapest"......."we are on time more than they are" bla bla bla.
Even with "they don't play fair" whine whine whine

bombshell,

Maybe.

But if that is true, and it is true that they have very good loads at present, I still think it is silly, because all they will do is put people off them when they ring up to get these 2 for 1 deals and they are not actually available.

This thread and the "headline", is total you know what and is now locked.

airsupport if you have to manufacture controversial threads based on 2 for 1 then you should also do so when British, SIA, Malaysian, United, McDonalds, Hungry Jacks etc. etc. also do so.
My son is flying to MEL next week for $98 return from Perth does that mean VB are also on the way out.

Tread carefully, we have tolerated you for the moment...only.

And no I don't work for or travel Jetstar.
