Is this a sign that Perth is getting busier ??
Or is it the Stars are getting longer and more convoluted

We can all blame National jet for that duzzy. A number of weeks ago, a spat over the radio from a NJ 146 at ATC over being told to expect 1 holding pattern for sequencing. Nice going guys, no one likes being slowed or held but hey, life goes on.

Actually the term is "Runway Capacity". The simple definition being the ability to get as many aircraft on and off the runway/s as possible with due recognition of "safety".
Artificially restricting runway capacity as was done at Sydney in 1987/88 and onwards now manifests itself as "slot times, curfews" and "movement caps" as a political solution to an operational problem.
As my old military driving instructer would say
"If you can't handle it, park it"

If that F#kker woulds stop doing crash and goes, there'd be a bit more time for the rest of us to get a landing in! You guys get 5 abreast in that thing?! Geez it must be tight!
Talk about favourtism! "Break Break, Fokker 50 200nm from Perth inbound at 120G/S, all other aircraft commence right hand patterns!".

Don't know what you fly or who you work for, shouldbefishin, but the oufit I work for don't take kindly to us carrying around full tanks wherever we go, it costs money to tanker fuel ( in a big aeroplane ),it also costs money to go around in circles, and half the time we are restricted by ZFW,RTOW,MTOW or MLW. Which generally leaves enough room for fixed/variable reserve ( obviously ) and hopefully a little contingency fuel, this is for missed approaches, disabled A/c on runway, unforeseen wx but not ATC INCOMPETENCE .
Ask anyone who has flown outside of Perth how they rate Perth ATC, the answer is always the same " second best controllers in the world............................everyone else is the best ".
When you go into LHR or LAX or even SY you can kinda except it , but Perth !! Come on, half a dozen bugsmashers and a few jets on a cavok day and it all turns to crap.
Probably the most infuriating things are, large ( 80+ IAS ) changes in speed at the last minute ( i'm convinced ATC think it's like driving a car ) resulting in pax and sometimes pilot, discomfort ( tried to get a real slippery machine down in a hurry at best glide speed ? ), hang on, I thought you identified us at 160nm, whats changed, certainly not our speed, what the hell are all those blips on the screen telling you ?? I thought it was speed, direction etc, but obviously not.
Big S turns at relatively low altitude, oooh yeh, the pax love that and it makes atc seem so professional.( oh yes, they know it's ATC 'cause I tell them )
Holding, when there is no advisory of holding in the notams ( until now ) then when you finally arrive on approach, there is at most one maybe 2 other A/C on frequency and the closest one lands before you even turn final.
Thank the Lord I don't fly in there much ( anymore ) my normally low blood pressure could'nt take it.
And finally, mr " life goes on " would you be so casual about it if you owned the company that quoted on a fixed price charter, with stuff all profit, that flies in/out of Perth 5 times a week ? how much do you reckon a holding pattern costs in a Dash8/Brazillia/ or even a Metro ?
To the NJS guy/guys responsible, bluddy good on ya !
