Intruder at YPPH

On Sat night, there was an unidentified aircraft flying around very close to Perth Airport. ATC were trying to contact it but wasn't having any luck. This went on I believe for sometime. Caused some aircraft to be slowed on arrival. Eventually it landed on 06 and was swooped on! Believe it was a 172 that got lost!!?? what the!

Anyone got more info on the incident? Never heard anything like it!!!

Cheers,

SP

Yes, thought it would have made the news by now!

Having an unidentified primary return around 5 miles east of Caversham with runway 21 in use at Perth certainly would have given the controllers a reason for concern - particulary with the aircraft carrier USS Kittyhawk docked down at Fremantle!

At least it was a Saturday night when all was quiet at Perth and therefore not too many aircraft were delayed.

I heard a rumour that VH-VMH (a C172 from Jandakot) may have been the culprit???

Anyone know any more details?
