Captain Cook
Thought I'd share this bit of humour with everyone...from today's Column 8 in the Sydney Morning Herald:
"Beat that," said Bev Brill (Column 8, Monday) after noting that her Virgin Airlines check-in officer was Buck Rogers. Ross Barlow responded yesterday with his Qantas pilot, Captain Cook. Today Rod Dempsey of Terrigal adds that on a recent flight to Queensland the co-pilot was announced as Rowan Atkinson. After murmurs among passengers about Mr Bean crashing the plane, the flight attendant thoughtfully added, "No, luckily not that one."

Oh that's OK.
In the country town where we spent alot of time as kids our local GP was Doctor Death (pronounced Deeth).
The town's Policeman was Constable Huxtable.
The Archbishop of the Catholic Church in the Philippines was Cardinal Sin.
At school we had a Sister Sledge teaching us scripture/religion.
Now TL, if your Captains name was Kirk, Picard, Bligh or even Pugwash then I'd start to worry.

Back in the early nineties there was a paper clipping about an Ansett F28 that was delayed out of Brisbane because the tyres needed replacing.
The Captains name was Goodyear and the First Officer was named Dunlop.
How cool is that!

Sorry,
I couldn't resist.
Two Captains Kirk here in AirNZ....
One a nice bloke and nice to fly with....
One more of a Captain Picard and superb to fly with.
As far as CRM goes, a rhetorical: Kirk or Picard ... and why?
Answers on a matchbox to the ususal address....
FP

FP, Picard. Delegates more, more considered in his responses, listens to crew members, more supportive of crew members, slow to anger but decisive in his actions!
