It's that old sinking feeling that comes right up from your boots via the pit of your stomach.

Interesting and from the point at which it became inevitable.

Pretty tough bird, the mains remained intact but did you see the deformation from the nose to about 3 metres back. Seems like the certification rules in regard to construction work fine.

I think Mercedes Benz have a similar crumple zone and "falling off" routine to absorb high impacts.

The "rug dance" in front of the CPs desk would have been even more fascinating to watch

Obviously the link worked for you - doesn't work from me.

I was about to tell dlf his link was a dud!

This Woomera

P.S. Ooops. Even ended up on the end of your last posting. We must stop meeting like this - people will talk!

If someone has a website they can host the clip on I will e-mail the file to you.

It is a "Power DVD" file which my default player in XP has a problem with but it works well with Windows Media.

It is well worth the effort.

This (or that, as the case may be) Woomera uses XP and Windows Media Player, click and up it comes, mind you broadband helps.

Failing that try a cut and paste into your browser. Thus demonstrates this Woomeras complete lack of cyber cool.

KL94

Dunno it looked to me like he had pretty much done flaring, from way back, run out of ideas, lift and air at about the same time.

posts on another website suggest this vid is of a test flight in the MD-80 certification process to validate the maximum ROD on landing.I'm guessing they went and re evaluated the figures.
