Your right.

However, the great advantage of FBW a/c is you can't do many "tricks".

At least someone was thinking "ahead" when the designed the a/c.

This perception is what worries me in the present Australian climate.

Airbus technology bites the ignorant and inexperienced hard. Mode confusion-three crashes and somatogravic illusion accentuated by the digital presentation another. Airbus has very sheepishly addressed the latter with CPIP and auto engagement of Flight directors on go around.

My point is that it would be disgraceful of CASA to allow a VB style introduction of Jetstar's 320. IE- Cheap and nasty endorsement programmes bought abroad .

With sound training the transition to Airbus should be seamless. But not the three week Virgin Blue style and encouraged garbage!

Interested to see no A320 type rating required.....:
However, I'm sure they'll get the nod first.

Gnad I doubt whether QF would ever adopt the type of approach Virgin did. However I think you are selling us a bit short mate. 3 weeks is a bit light on. The simulator and ground school for the classic was around 3weeks plus another week for the NG coversion. Depending on experience we train lads for 4 to 6 weeks on the line. with EP's and CRM etc, It's closer to 3 months by the time they are finished.
