What Pay rise are you expecting over the next year

Well the question has to be asked. Reading the aircrew sites - most are expecting RPI +0.5% = 4.8%
What do you think we should get - it must be RPI at least surely?:)

Doubt it.I think it will be in the area of 2% which is Gov target, with so many strings attached you could make a fishing net.
Also the lower Nats Banded units could well be in for another drumming over,to keep the higher paid units quiet.
Oil at $150 a barrell and climbing, the airline industry is going to be in the S*:mad:T.

Me Me Me Me 8th July 2008 10:02

From a NATS perspective, I can see a long, long, LONG and painful negotiation process for this one. The long term financial plans for CP2/CP3 will be well at odds with what RPI is currently sitting at.

I sincerely hope that, after Mr Barron rubishing any reference to NATS still supposed to be a 'not-for-profit' company (it was a condition of PPP) and insisting that we are a bone fide profit-making, private company, they are not now going to play the 'part government owned' card to insist the c. 2% public sector pay idea should apply to us.

We managed to pay off a huge chunk of debt and still make a multi-million pound profit... I'm not taking a pay cut in real terms. Simple as that.

What they will say is that any money to pay for the pay deal will have to be raised from improved effiiciency.

You mean we won't be offered the Dubai style 40% pay rise to keep us all happy?
Paid for by culling half the office staff?
Too simple I guess.

Standard Noise 9th July 2008 04:27

Culling half the office staff, mmm, now there's an idea.
Mind you, we could cull a whole site.

stressed 9th July 2008 08:45

And that site would be ??????????????

The Many Tentacles 9th July 2008 08:59

The fourth floor????

Arkady 9th July 2008 09:41

I think Standard is alluding to a site a bit further down the road from Swanwick :E

The Many Tentacles 9th July 2008 10:01

Oh, that one ;)

I just thought I'd line up another target as well in case one ducks out of the way :E

kinglouis 10th July 2008 15:30

if traffic is still going up, so 3.5% a year over the next 3 years will do.

andrijander 12th July 2008 06:52

Don't know about NATS but at EC this last year we were in for a treat. A whole 1% increase for the revised period of 07-08 paid retroactively. Geez, thank you Boss!

I just wonder how much they may have made in interest on that by holding it a whole year. An how much did cost of living raise? Hum....

But they say I should be thankful....right.....

:/

LapSap 12th July 2008 07:29

6.3% this year in the Fragrant Harbour.
That almost brings us back to where we were 10 years ago.:hmm:

Standby for them to take it back with the other hand in 6 months though.
