For stage 3 how would you give evidence of emotional stability?

Would this be examples of how I dealt with situations like loosing a family member, bullying and situations like that or am I on the wrong track?

+For ATC motivation examples, is stating that I used to want to be a pilot a good or a bad idea?

Hey everybody! I've been lurking on this forum for a while and decided it's time to join in :)
I am currently a week away from my Stage 3 - passed Stage 2 a month ago and I have to say I found the whole test quite enjoyable. The first part of FEAST out of 10 people only me and some other person went on to take DART. After doing DART I felt that if this is what a job as ATC looks like, I think I could be good at it. I got an invitation email for Stage 3 the very next morning so I think that indicates that I passed the DART with a pretty decent score ( or maybe not lol ).

Anyway, as english is my second language ( I am polish ) I was wondering if there is anyone who could help me out a bit with this final part of recruitment. I have never done any recruitment solely in english language and here is one of the hardest possible! I'd like to know a bit more about what to expect so I can prepare adequately and not ruin my chances just because of language barrier.

How do you know they will ask you about your emotional stability? is there any source to possible questions they can ask? or ATC motivation examples.

Please any kind person PM me if you are willing to share some insights on this last stage. It's quite an investment for me to travel to England for those tests and all I want is have some fair chance :)

Why did it take so long before the offer of a medical appointment and the actual appointment? Was there no dates available?

Essentially I couldn't make the first one they offered me and so was given a later one instead that I could definitely make.

Is anyone starting in Whiteley in January?

I'm starting then and I'm looking to see if there is any group on facebook/whatsapp; starting to get curious about living arrangements and a few other things and would be useful to see what others are doing.

Got my Stage 3 in Dec so currently studying and preparing.

Do you have any choice in which of the 3 training sites you attend?

Unfortunately I fell at the final hurdle, had my stage 3 on November 6th and have been told that I can re-apply in one year's time (subject to change)

I'm torn on what to do. I could stay at my current job for a year and try again, or pursue a role as a controller in the RAF or Navy.

I know I got into the final 4%, which is an achievement in itself, but NATS will not give you any feedback on whether or not they believe you would be good enough in a year etc.

If I haven't passed this time, is it worth trying again?

If you're really sure it's what you want to do and you've been invited back, then go for it. Use the year to build up a little more life experience and then you're in a better position. If you're not 100% then start looking for other jobs/careers, but know you've got it to come back to in a year if you're not happy doing what you're doing at the time

Sorry to hear about that but I totally agree with @The Many Tentacles. If you really want this job, wait a year and go for it.
That's what I did. It's my second attempt now and hopefully I won't need a third one. But even if I'm unsuccessful this time, I'll try to improve even more and try again.
On the good side, it's only a year's waiting now. I had to wait 2 years to reapply.

Hey guys. So I have been hanging around in this topic lurking in the background for a few weeks now. Seeing so many positive people on here encouraging each other is really pleasant to see. I have my Stage 2 coming up in a couple of weeks, I'm a bit nervous and want to do my best like everyone else but I also know it's something you either have or don't which I found out by doing some research.

I hope in a few weeks I'll be back on here to say I've passed Stage 2 and if I don't, then I'll just do what a couple of you guys are doing and try again!

Been lurking here for about a week, hi everyone!

I got my stage 2 tomorrow morning (9th Nov).

​Ive travelled down today and staying in a hotel nearby NATS for tonight only then travelling back up north after the tests. My only concern would be what I should do with bags/coat. Will there be somewhere to put them or will I just have to carry it around all day?

You can take them in. They'll get scanned at entry. You can then either take them with you or they will look after them until you leave.

I believe so, as different people have different notice periods for their current job(s).

As someone who is leaving the MOD for NATS... have a productive year, try to broaden your horizons to tick the life experience box. Why not dip your toe and become a reservist or something?

have you thought applying to EuroControl? seeing as you passed FEAST they're likely to just fast track you to interview stage, they may want you to do feast again, but it's certainly an option if you haven't already, only thing is you need to be no older than 25, so depends on your age.

NATS Stage 2 Assessment
 

Recently did the Stage 2 NATS assessment. Intense but fun day, to make this a fair process I won't go into too much detail but here's some tips:

-Read the booklet and memorise most of it. (They ask questions from all aspects, don't think any detail is insignificant).
-As for the aircraft info, I know it's a lot but I was strategic about this and memorised what I thought was most significant for an ATC to know.
-Practice brain games, especially spacial awareness games
-Brush on your mental arithmetic
-The DARTS is unique so no way you can really prep for it.
-Get a good nights sleep, this is crucial as your constantly focusing and by the end of it, should you succeed, your brain will be frazzled.
