My suspicions were confirmed today. I didn't pass those second tests. However, in the email it said I could reapply in 12 months time. There was no mention of the two year wait, so I'll try again in a years time if applications have been reopened.

RadioActiveMan 28th February 2013 19:36

Dude,

I feel for you, that e-mail must have been like a dagger, best of luck with your other endeavours. I know that's small words but true.

Has anyone heard if Birmingham results have been sent out, I haven't heard anything myself.

Regards,
Homes

:ugh: Genuinely gutted for you mate:{

It's not the end of the world though. I know that goes no way to making you feel better, but it's true. Gotta put life's knock backs into perspective. Well, that's what I always do - best bit of advice I ever received.

And yeah, best of luck for your future - onwards & upwards!:ok:

Nothing yet. Hopefully soon, though!

gxleone 1st March 2013 13:30

Heard back just now. Didn't get through. Good luck to those that did.

GlasgowBoy 1st March 2013 14:30

I didn't make it either. To say I'm gutted is a major understatement.

Everyone I'm still in touch with from Birmingham on the 22nd hasn't made it either.

Best of luck to everyone.

macCO100 1st March 2013 16:31

has anyone been successful from those who went to Birmingham?
overall it was a nice experience. I did not get through though either :ugh:

FojkarM 1st March 2013 17:43

dmr_rory 2nd March 2013 17:55

Hi FojkarM, I was on S2 on the 27th too and am booked for S3 on 15th, see you there! Hope the others from the 27th have had good news too

aawallace 2nd March 2013 20:05

I also passed stage 2 on the 27th, however getting a day off work for stage 3 is proving as difficult as the assessments.

tooomek 4th March 2013 22:39

well done guys :)

anyone else through from the 27th S2?

Mrpemberton2012 6th March 2013 17:44

Stage one

Hello all. i got a message to attend the first assessment stage on the 19th of march. My question is, do i need to know the whole of the 'air traffic control for candidates initial test stage document'. Really confused, if anyone who has done this stage could you please back to me as soon as possible, thankyou and goodluck to everyone

Jof_1999 6th March 2013 21:10

If you apply for a job and they send you a document to learn, learn it.

Simon89 6th March 2013 21:21

As Jof_1999 said, learn the document, more you know of it, the better.

Only 5 months until I can reapply :)

If you found your way this far, I'd like to assume that you've read back a few pages on this thread. What you want to know is more than adequately covered if you put in a few minutes of effort and read this thread for half an hour.

There are no shortcuts in ATCO training, you have to put in the effort yourself, there's no teacher kicking you up the arse to make sure you do your homework

eagle112 7th March 2013 07:50

hey guys and girls,

can anyone tell me the fastest way from london heathrow down to Fareham? Can you also recommend cheap places to stay ;)?

Thanks!

The Many Tentacles 7th March 2013 07:59

Probably by train, National Rail Enquiries - Official source for UK train times and timetables.

If you're going to CTC at Whiteley, Swanwick is the nearest station. PLaces to stay depend on how rich you're feeling, there's a Holiday Inn in Fareham or the Solent Hotel in Whiteley which is a bit more, but closer.

There's plenty of other places to stay, have a look back through this thread and there's some recommendations

Crazy Voyager 7th March 2013 08:09

I usually go coach to Southampton and then train to Swanwick, not sure if it is quicker though but it's usually a bit cheaper anyway.

tooomek 7th March 2013 23:30

just wondered if anyone knows how are the roads looking during the morning rush hours around CTC especially M27 slip road? I'm looking to be coming down from M3 on to M27 around 7am on tuesday which gives me plenty of time in case something does come up on the way! really worried though I don't want to get caught up in the traffic :)

Ryan10 8th March 2013 16:47

Advise please

Hi guys/girls I am really interested in being a ATC and have been looking at NATS website for sometime now but would like some advise on what I need to Revise/learn for all the stages 1,2,3. Cheers.

Jof_1999 8th March 2013 17:25

Toomek,

I was the same before my stage 1 and ended up arriving 2 hours early but there is a coffee shop at CTC. It is nice enough but those 2 hours took a long time to pass and did nothing for the nerves, especially when I saw about 25 people who had failed the ATC test on the sitting before me.

Good luck.
