On bended knee Mk II

Well, they closed the last one, and as the nights are drawing in, what else is there to do?

On second thoughts, don't answer that one!

U R NumberOne 10th December 2001 10:40

Well, I was wondering how long it would be before the "son of Bended Knee" appeared - although my money was on Buzz to get things going, but well done to you Adge!

We could always use this thread to post the scandal from next weekend's party.

Spoonbill 10th December 2001 17:01

Behave....... :D :p :D :p

Co ordination unaffected 11th December 2001 02:11

Oh no not again

Adge Cutler 11th December 2001 02:15

I thought it could serve as an effective communication tool for the 40% of the unit we all no longer see!
(I suppose we could treat it like a toilet though, and fill it up with useless 5hite)
;)

Data Dad 12th December 2001 15:02

Can't keep a good thread down I see.

So who is the new outing team now that B watch is no more? :D

Going to catch up with my "old" buddies at the Y watch Xmas dinner next week... might even have a surprise up my sleeve so be there or be square.

DD

driver 8 14th December 2001 19:17

Still more new names I do not recognise, surely they can't all ne from ISZ? Or has mokey boy been registering yet another load of different user names again?

Where are the Y Watch lads off to after the lunch then? Is the plan still to meet us Z watch boys in town somewhere?

BuzzLightyear 18th December 2001 06:23

Hey Dad

You have anything to do with that Xmas decoration of the snowwoman with the big boobies that's at the end of your road?

Snow is on its way chaps/esses, this week could see the first issue of certificates this year!

Xmas bash stories? Well.....nah couldn't! :D

U R NumberOne 18th December 2001 12:39

Not again!! I'm away down south this afternoon and have to return on Boxing Day as Mrs NumberOne is back to work on the 27th! Looks like I might earn a proper certificate this year :p

Xmas bash stories - oh yes you can!

Data Dad 18th December 2001 13:20

Buzz,

the snowperson with the big boobies is nowt to do with me - Council spending our money again!

No 1 - maybe this season you'll get a pass not a fail! :D :D :D

DD

Edited to remove sexual bias!

Talk about cold hands!

I too may be in recepit of a certificate this yr, going south on the 23rd, returning on the 26th. Hopefully herself will be feeling strong after being fed relentlessly, and help to push. ;)

UR no 1, you've got another 2WD advantage over most of us, so it's inexcusable for you to get caught out.

BuzzLightyear 19th December 2001 04:39

Ah but he is just a big, soft, southern jessie! :D

By heck D8 you been past Dads gaff as well, the likeness is astounding, only yours doesn't flash on and off! Is it advertising some new service avilable in rural Aberdeenshire? Well suppose it will make a change from the sheep! :D

Data Dad 19th December 2001 15:26

Buzz,

having seen D8's picture (very good btw) I think I can solve the mystery of ze flashing snowperson wiz ze big boobies....

Maybe the Council have decided to put it there because so many of the drivers along that stretch are a bunch of wahnkers :D :D :D :D

Scott Voigt 20th December 2001 03:34

Isn't that the "fallen madonna with the big boobies <G>".

BuzzLightyear 22nd December 2001 05:04

Cheerio
Nah you're all right mate, I'm off for Crimbo! Working the New Year though, bu*ger!!! Anyway about time I relived that snowy night on the Tullos Straight. Never been flashed at yet, my licence is untainted by points. Probably more down to luck than good planning....

DD
Hope you weren't including me in that "so many are a bunch of wankhers"!!!

Scott
She's not fallen off yet, still stuck up the lampost. Or is it the lampost that is.....no don't go there!

No1
Loooking gooood for your certificate matey :) :) :) :)

Odi 22nd December 2001 19:11

Good to see the Ice Station's unofficial chat page has reached page 2. Hopefully this will show the Colt/Norwich lot how to run a thread.

D8

Nice picture. How's your head and stomach?

Odi

BuzzLightyear 23rd December 2001 04:53

Hey Odi

Tell us more, has D8 been driving the big white porcelain truck again? Did he manage to get away without breaking any limbs this time? :) :) :)

Oh dear Driver 8.......

Data Dad 23rd December 2001 15:15

Buzz

No wasn't including you - was thinking more of the likes of the Beamer driver who managed 2 complete 360's before ending up in the field yesterday! (THINKS:-perhaps he was too busy looking at the big boobies!)

DD

U R NumberOne 24th December 2001 13:13

Greetings from South o' the border, where (sorry to disappoint you Buzz) the snow melted overnight - looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer for that elusive certificate.

Is Driver8's gastric disaster a result of the Xmas Bash - still haven't heard any scandal from that yet - come on lads...

driver 8 24th December 2001 15:51

Sorry to dissapoint you all but it was nothing to do with the xmas lunch, I was driving and didn't even go into town afterwards, just wasn't very well at all for the next 24hours or so, obviously something I ate dissagreed with me!

Odi: nice attempt to start what would have been a good rumour but unfortunately was a non-event, however I'm not working now until boxing day so theres still time! :)

Merry Christmas to all..

BuzzLightyear 25th December 2001 06:27

Dad

Went through the local village earlier today and saw another one of these strange flashing snowpersons. Now I know you are in that village a lot, one at the end of your road.....coincidence?

Data Dad, mild mannered ATCO or dodgy Christmas decoration salesman? :) :) :)

Don't worry No.1 the snow is back!!!! You still have the rest of the winter to get that coveted award.

Merry Christmas to you all at the Station!

Adge Cutler 28th December 2001 22:27

Saw a discovery in a fence today. How I larfed, - they only have more grip than the rest of us when they're speeding up, when it comes to slowing down or going round corners, they're just like we are.

But with a lot more momentum.

bwhahahahahahaha

clonk!

Data Dad 29th December 2001 02:47

Buzz

you will have noticed that someone has sabotaged the boobies at the end of my road - and it weren't me!

Mild mannered ATCO? Me? :) :) :)
If only you knew.......

Ready Immediate? 30th December 2001 05:16

Oh well ODI.......yet another PD chat line....

Life in the land of snow and no sunshine must be trying.

Adge Cutler 1st January 2002 23:59

Buzz - How goes the yellow snow mobile?

Dad - Does Mrs Dad know?

BuzzLightyear 2nd January 2002 04:37

Dad

You could have at least waited until you were out of the restaurant before pulling off that trick with the chocolate profiteroles and hot fudge sauce!!!!! :) :) :) :) Was that a repair kit for your flashing signs that you had in the Argos bag the other day, or next years samples!

A bit of advice for the unwary, don't invite a certain Sumburgh controller around for drinkies without locking away the vacuum cleaner first..

Concrete 4th January 2002 05:11

He doesn't mean me. I don't know what a vacuum cleaner does.

Data Dad 4th January 2002 23:54

Buzz, the profiteroles and hot fudge sauce didnt help solve the unserviceability of the flashing snowperson :) :) worked wonders in other ways though! The Argos bag actually contained the ingredients for more of the sauce

A rather disturbing thought occurred to me earlier today - 20 years to the day since I started at the College (any other 49ers out there?) Ironically, it snowed in Bournemouth that day and caused chaos - maybe it was trying to tell me something

BuzzLightyear 5th January 2002 16:47

Should that be congratulations or commiserations Dad!! Funny I always thought you looked older than that :) :) :) :)

Have you seen the thread asking where someone will get posted to? Remember the last time someone asked such a silly question...... tempting isn't it!

Odi 7th January 2002 14:49

Buzz

Funny that, the same thought occured to me! :) :)

Cuddles 8th January 2002 06:33

Buzz, Odi et al, consider it done!

(JFC got there first anyway) - open season now methinks

Data Dad 12th January 2002 01:38

Unless I am very much mistaken, I believe our very own "Number 1" is away celebrating a significant birthday ending in a ZERO!

Maybe not as over the hill as me but teetering on the brink :) :) :)

So everyone join in after me...

"Happy birthday to you ..."

DD

U R NumberOne 12th January 2002 07:45

Thank You DD!

What can I say? At least there are plenty of you around the unit if I need advice about coping with this difficult age!

I'll raise my glass of Coke to you all in some high class Parisian night spot tonight (assuming LGW and CDG aren't fogged out and we make the 45 minute connection! )

BuzzLightyear 19th January 2002 17:07

Adge

You remebered your telephone number yet without having to look it up in the unit contact number book? Any truth in the rumour that you got lost on the way home last night and had to ask a policeman to help you?? :) :) :)

No.1

I'm surprised it wasn't a nice hot cup of cocoa that you were raising! I hear it helps you oldies to get to sleep of an evening :)

Adge Cutler 20th January 2002 02:29

Buzz

None whatsoever, however I freely admit to having had to look up my 'phone number in the contact book. After all I was reliably informed that in the not too distant past my number in said Oracle was incorrect - I wouldn't want to give the right no. to helo companies for on call on New Years Day would I?

MF figured out who you are yet?

I hope that I get royalties from your new sig :) :)

Cuddles 10th February 2002 01:23

Thought this should rear its' ugly head again

Just like me!

Mr Gorsky 11th February 2002 20:27

Oh no, not again!. .Will a moderator please close this thread down! . .Do you guys up north have nothing more interesting to do!! . .Not enough helicopters for you or something?

U R NumberOne 13th February 2002 02:34

Well Cheerio, we can always look on the bright side - when the Hummingbirds come back to the West side nest to roost, our motors can be washed off then given a blow dry courtesy of a passing AS332!

atcomarkingtime 13th February 2002 02:41

I'm quite sure that the SV 51 drivers will get some 6 weeker in to wash his car for him...... wot sory did I say 6 weeker ..... I really meant some 6 hour guy!! ( yes - the ESB atco's will get that one).... anything I can do while I'm here for a few minutes making my roster up at weekend to 50 hours!!!!
