Zsu 29th Jan 2012 11:25

Excuse me, is this topic still alive? :oh:

Tamas1990 2nd Feb 2012 17:08

Hello Zsu!

I think yes. What are you interested about?

davidgkovacs 2nd Feb 2012 17:17

it gets alive every year:)

Zsu 2nd Feb 2012 17:28

I thought so :)
I'd like to apply for the training and I wanted to ask about the dates of testings. As I've read here, it begins in April, right?

Tamas1990 2nd Feb 2012 19:59

Yes, you're right. Usually the testing procedure starts somewhere around spring. For example, last year the first day was somewhere around Easter.

Zsu 3rd Feb 2012 10:55

Thank you! It doesn't fit me, so I will apply next year...
But I'll be following this topic anyway :)

vdszsz 20th Feb 2012 12:44

Hi!
I have some questions about the training period. During this period do the candidates have job or just going to the trainings? Is there a salary for this period (and yes how many)?

Thanks in advance!

Fabiaan1 21st Feb 2012 08:14

wazzup Guys? :)
how's life?

davidgkovacs 21st Feb 2012 16:51

vdszsz, be a bit more interested ;)

2012 HC Recruitment 2012 recruitment

Hi!
(Sziasztok!)

Does anybody know what positions (TWR/ACC/APP) are hungarocontrol recruiting for this year? I would be very grateful for certain numbers. :-)

I also wondered what kind of CV are they looking for (amerikai/hagyományos).

Is there anyone else around here who also applying this year?

Tamas1990 27th Feb 2012 16:32

Hello!

Last year I sent an american type CV, and it was ok for them.

About the positions, I think HungaroControl will start az APP/ACC course this year as well, but this is just a guess.

Omark 27th Mar 2012 15:07

Hi everyone,

I'm Márk, and I applied to HC this year.
I have a rather unusual question to those who applied earlier: what's the dress code for the FEAST? :)
I know it's not an interview and people are probably going to be tested day and night at an industrial scale, but still. Oh and a fun fact: according to the doodle poll where we had to choose when we would like to take the test, there are 348 applicants this year. The whole thing seems futile already.
Is any of the veterans of this thread going to try again this year?

Tamas1990 27th Mar 2012 19:56

Hello!

There is no dress code for the FEAST test. Just wear something comfortable. You have to sit there for hours, and do the test. So a shirt with jeans is more than enough.

Omark 28th Mar 2012 08:52

Thanks!
I've read that you got admitted last year. How do you like the training so far?

Yaman123 1st Apr 2012 10:58

About the training course

Hi Tamás!

As you wrote you' re in the team, so maybe you could answer some of my questions.
I will apply this year. Last year my language exam was missing but now I have one. I have some questions about the training. IF i can pass the FEAST test I have to know that I can finish the training successfully. I have a wife, two kids and a pretty good day job with better than average salary so if I switch I MUST get the job otherwise I will screw up my life. So my questions are:

1. What type of lessons do you have? I mean are they hard to learn? I know it's relative, but ...
2. How many tests do you have to take during the training and how well you have to make those exams. (60% or 75% or 90%)
3. What' s the fail rate among students? (I thinking about those who are starting the training but can' t make it to the end.)
4. The SDM (Strip Disply Management) test have been replaced by the DART (Dynamic Radar) test at Eurocontrol. Is this the case at Hungarocontrol?

Thanks
Yaman

p.s. Uhh, and the last one: I read on the forum that Janeszka failed on the interview. I thought the Feast test is the hardest part. So could you describe it, what topics the HC guys want to know about?

Yaman123 1st Apr 2012 11:49

sorry, double post...

Omark 1st Apr 2012 19:33

I met the guys from HC at their exhibit during the HVG job fare. They said that generally only 1-2 out of the 12-15 recruited people finish the 2-year training successfully.
You wrote that you are applying this year like me; I guess you've already seen that the doodle page has 485 invited people...
At these odds I'm starting to think it would be more profitable to play the lottery.

Tamas1990 2nd Apr 2012 16:06

Hello Everybody!

I will try to asnwer some of your questions. First of all about the subjects. We have (had) Air Traffic Management, Meteorology, Navigation, Aircraft, Human Factor, Equipments, Air Law, things like this. You have to know all of these subjects by hearth, because the whole job is based on these subjects. Some of the subjects are really hard, but usually these are the most important as well :D But the teachers are really professional and they will help in everything to understand etc. About the tests, I think they are really fair, they are just asking for the necessary thinks, and with study you can pass the tests.

Usually at the beginning we had tests in every week, but now we have test usually in every 3-4 weeks. Well there is a minimum limit, but I would say it is better to be above 90% on the tests.

About the fail rate. I cannot say anything about this. If you perform good, and you fulfill all of the requirements, than you have a great chance to become an air traffic controller. It is really important, that you have to prove every day in the simulator. The traffic number and complexity increases day by day, and you have to perform better and better.

About the SDM and DART test I don't know anything. Maybe later on you can ask somebody on this forum, who already did the test this year.

Also I would like to say some words about these numbers, what you are writing. It doesn't matter that how many people applied to the course. If you believe in yourself, and you really would like to do this, and you do all the steps of the selection process by hearth, than you can be a part of this team. :) You just have to focus on your performance, and don't think too much about the others.

Yaman123 3rd Apr 2012 11:26

Thanks Tamás for your answers. About the fail rate: You wrote that you cannot say anything about that subject. Is it forbidden to give out information like this or is everybody in the team (until now)?

Omark! Am i misunderstanding something? I cannot believe a 90% failure rate! Are they joking??? I understand it' s a though job with a lot of responsibility but do I have to be a Superhuman to be successful?

Tamas1990 3rd Apr 2012 16:02

Hello!

I cannot tell anything about the fail rate baceuse it is totally relative. I mean there is a limit against your knowledge and skill. If you are above this line, than everything is ok, and you will finish the course.

There were courses when everybody was above the line and everybody finished the course succesfully, but of course there are always some excemptions. I can say that this 90% fail rate is bull****. The course is not going to be an easy job, but with huge effort you can perform well.

Omark 3rd Apr 2012 17:09

Tamás, I hope you are right and the guys were just trying to scare me away with this failure rate.
Yaman, I don't know when you are going to take the test, but good luck!
I'm taking it Friday morning. I was hoping there would be another great gang here like last year so people could go together.
