New ATC member here

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Canadian ATCO, I'll save naming the center for now, but high level enroute controller dealing with mostly NAT traffic.

"I'll save naming the center for now"

Can I have a guess?

CDN_ATC 22nd Sep 2007 18:46

Sure, but it's probably not your first guess ;)

Jerricho 23rd Sep 2007 00:22

Thunder Bay Terminal?

CDN_ATC 23rd Sep 2007 04:04

Nah, Timmins Approach

Number2 24th Sep 2007 03:46

Say Again, Over! 24th Sep 2007 12:45

Hum.....

I think he was saying hello. :}

Welcome to the poster side CDN_ATC!

S.A.O.
CYOW TCU (kinda like Thunder Bay terminal but with airplanes :ouch:)

Jerricho 24th Sep 2007 13:27

Thunder Bay has airplanes.........

Loads of them little VFR going out an beating the crap out of each other.

Al being herded round the circuit by a Pom :E

CDN_ATC 24th Sep 2007 16:10

To avoid confusion, no I don't work anywhere near Ontario:ok:

who's Al...and what did he do to deserve that??

Jerricho 24th Sep 2007 16:46

Awwww, crap.

That's how you spell "all" in YQT

And very trying it is too. 5/6 in the circuit on RW30 with IFR ins and outs on the crossing RW25 anybody? Throw in a few helicopters and we're really laughing - not. http://bestsmileys.com/angry1/8.gif

Fortunately it's not like that every day, plenty of feet on the desk time!

Never met Al. Anyways Sport, weren't you supposed to cross train on YQT Terminal? They seemed a bit short of numbers this summer.

machinehead 25th Sep 2007 19:19

Excuse me Jerricho, how very dare you........it's POHM not pom!!:=

Get 'em Squibbler!

Say Again, Over! 26th Sep 2007 11:13

Ahhhhh... VFRs

Aren't they fun?

Nothing like one of our (very) french speaking Québec Pilots practicing his english R/T when you're busy. :ugh:

Here's the trick for VFRs: Say "Roger!" a lot.

Now, take away the suspense CDN_ATC! Can't you see it's killing us... well it isn't really but...

Where're you at?

SAO

CDN_ATC 28th Sep 2007 05:26

QM High level Enroute

evansb 28th Sep 2007 06:18

That would be Moncton, New Brunswick. ;) Located near scenic Riverview, where the autumn colours must be brilliant by now!

Do you know Mr. Oxner or Scooter Magee?

CDN_ATC 28th Sep 2007 09:41

Yes I do both, same ops room, they just work a different specialty then me. Should I say hello?

Say Again, Over! 28th Sep 2007 15:37

Say hello to Stephane Blanchard for me if you can!

Felix

CDN_ATC 28th Sep 2007 16:50

I will, he just recently qualified a few weeks ago after his transfer.

evansb 28th Sep 2007 19:39

They probably don't remember me, as I was one of several old grey-haired
types on a fam tour a while back. Somewhat complex airspace to work, given your FIR boundaries. CZQM does seems like a great place to work, as your staff appears top-notch. :ok:

Best regards
