Ignore my last post! Went back to my emails to check for a reply and there was a link to the personality questionnaire. Looks like I passed Stage 1 after all.

Just completed the questionnaire, feels like I was repeating myself over and over with all those re-worded questions. What a grueller! :ugh:

Back to the waiting game now :rolleyes:

Does anybody have a rough timescale, from completing the personality questionaire, to finding out if you're going to Stage 2?

For guidance for anyone going through this process, this is how my application went:

10th November - Stage 1.
27th November - Invited to fill in online personality questionnaire, returned the same day.
28th November - Passed personality questionnaire, invited to fill in application form to proceed to Stage 2, form returned about 3 days after this.
3rd December - Invited to book Stage 2 date.
17th December - Stage 2. Told I'd passed on the day.
19th January - Stage 3.
21st January - Told I'd passed Stage 3.
6th February - Medical.

Did the online personality thing yesterday morning and still not heard either way.

God I hate the waiting. Hope it isnt a bad sign

Don't worry, I think the official line is 15 working days for the personality questionnaire... It took two or three days for my result.

Unfortunately you have another computer to prove yourself to if you make it to Stage 2 - the dreaded computer tests! Not free of it yet.....

Ah but it's difficult to make old style exam papers move around and collide with each other though! :E

Check out Nokio's excellent post on p35 of this thread for a detailed description of Stage 2's computer fun. Nothing you can do to prepare, and isn't personality based either - it's all about how your brain works (and if it continues to work under pressure) in my opinion...

Talking of the stage 2 tests, has anyone done computer based tests at the OASC at RAF Cranwell? (either with the RAF or through GAPAN perhaps?)

Just wondering if there are any similarities? (I would imagine that there are).

I have my Stage one on 16th Feb in London.

I'm just busy preparing as best i can, i'm currently just having a quick check over some distances between cities (mainly between London and else where, but thats just based on my normal reference point) wanted to check would the answers to any questions that came up like this be in miles or nautical miles? Thought i'd double check.

I was just wondering if anyone could help. I have been invited to the first stage of the selection process but I am unable to attend any date in March due to Work commitments within my current role. I received an email today with additional dates but again these were in march. The email also states that if I have not booked a date by the 24th of February by application will be cancelled.

If I were to explain the situation do you think Human Resources who are responsible for this would be understanding and allow me to wait until a date becomes available in April to book my testing day?

They should be able to.
I initally registered my interested with NATS in june, i was sent an email telling me to book a stage one test, but i wanted to wait a while until starting the application process.
I recieved what sounds like a similar email to you, telling me i had to book my stage one before a certain date otherwise they would assume i did not want to apply again and they would cancel my application. So i called HR explained i didnt wish to start the application process until the end of the year/jan 2009, and they put my application "on hold" for 6months.
They also advised me to give them a call if i wanted to apply any time before this so they could unfreeze me. Was all very straight forward.

Although i think it was only so easy because i had not done any stages, i'm not so sure if you would be able to put off applying fo stage 2 for example having already passed stage one unless there was real need to.

In my test, distances between London and elsewhere were in statute miles (miles), however some of the DST questions were either statute, nautic miles, Even when asking cruising speed of aircraft, in one question, the correct answer was the speed in ground miles per hour.:ouch:

google earth is a good reference point for distances..:ok:

Waiting is killing me. Anyone else comleted it this week had a result yet? Wasnt expecting this one to be 15 days.

How long have you been waiting? I did mine yesterday afternoon. Feeling it too! Hopefully we hear sooner rather than later.
