Fiso

Hello,

Does anyone know the CAA's views on ATC/FISO mix at an airport?

What would a FISO expect to get paid at a fully licenced airport?

Cheers

I don't know if you can say what can they expect to be paid. It depends on the type of operation at that aerodrome, and what they can afford to pay.
I am an ATCO which at the same time provides a FIS in a 10 mile radius. I receive about the national average salary. (Not average ATCO salary!)

FISO

DCS, in my experience it depends very much on the ATSSD Inspector. At my unit we have had a requirement to replace our ATC with FIS and, on such occassions, we have to NOTAM the change in service and reduce traffic levels. Also we were told that the services could not be mixed durring a day, we were only permitted to use FISO's at either the beginning or end of the day.

As for pay that really does depend upon the location of the aerodrome.

No comment, but this makes very interesting reading on ATC or AFIS provision (read the end of it):
