Weather maps?

Does London air traffic control have weather/rain radar maps at their disposal?

They had electronic displays for them at West Drayton before Terminal Control moved to Swanwick so I would assume they have them at Swanwick. Whether they also have them next door in Area Control I don't know.

Short answer is no, not in TC anyway.
There is a selectable page on an info screen adjacent to the radar that shows weather and the progress of storm cells but that only gives a general picture.
Nothing is overlaid on the radar and any info from said screen is not to be used for tactical radar controlling.

Reacting to pilot reports is as good as it’s ever going to be.
